  1. https://fish.shimano-eu.com/content/fish/eu/gb/en/homepage/Service/Warranty-policy.html Shimano has always been good to me. Call them. Good luck!
  2. Okay, back on topic... 50's and 60's here. We might get a head start on smallmouth season!
  3. C'mon... Give the guys a pricing point and you will get several great recommendations. A buzzbait rod is not that complicated. M or MH, Fast or Moderate Fast action. I use the same rig for all topwater lures: G.Loomis GLX PR844C/ Sunline Shooter Defier Armilo #11.
  4. If you want some company one of those days, let me know and I will show you around.
  5. Well, my "observation" would suggest otherwise. Yellowtail (threadfin shad) seem to be the primary forage on the Tennessee River. The density is massive, maybe billions, but certainly hundreds of millions. There is no room in the coves for water! Oddly, we find store bought minnows outperform natives by a significant margin. Maybe the bass are simply attracted by something a little different. Back to craws, I often find them in bass literally stuffed to the gills. So, yes they like them, but I think the bass are forced to settle for shad as their main course. Moving baits seem to be the ticket in the spring and fall, but I always have a jig with a craw trailer rigged.
  6. Post a review if it works for you.

  8. Standard size Purple/brown, Alabama Craw and Okeechobe Pitching Jig Rig Magnum White Slow roll Trailer on a Fogy Standard size Blue Fleck Swim Trailer on a swim jig (rigged vertically)
  9. I like the JIKARig or Tokyo rig and a Rage Structure Bug
  10. Our "season" on the Tennessee River starts around the middle of October. Water temperature should be around 60* or slightly lower. The smallmouth will be shallow to about 20'. Everything works, but the A-rig is king!
  11. braid = butter when it comes to abrasion, especially cutting on rocks
  12. My favorite "old" rod comes up in our Flea Market occasionally: G.Loomis GLX MBR844C (The IMX version is good, too!)

  14. Well, the Aldebaran weighs 4.8 ounces, but is still strong as a mule. The reel is perfect for light and medium weight presentations. The Metanium might be the better choice for an all-around reel, the Aldebaran is more for "enthusiasts", I have two.
  15. From the Home Page: https://www.bassresource.com/fishing/line-choices.html Selecting line can be as simple or as complicated as you want it to be. The easy solution is #6 for spinning tackle; #12 for baitcasting. After that it's a matter of preference and technique. For me that's generally #6 Tatsu and #12 Tatsu On several rigs it's Smackdown and leader. So many choices...
  16. Two HUGE upsets and I was hoping for a third: Mississippi State over 6th ranked LSU and Kansas State over 3rd ranked Oklahoma. Missouri never really got in the game, it was all Alabama from the get-go.
  17. Aflac?
  18. Green Pumpkin is by far "The Favorite Color". Funny too, it isn't green, but much closer to dark brown.
  19. Tonight they give Bama a butt whoopin'
  20. More practice... https://www.saltstrong.com/articles/how-to-tie-crazy-alberto-knot/
