Questions about the setup that I purchased.
- SHIMANO RULES!
You da MAN! The only reason I went with Shimano's service center was because this reel is JDM and if parts were required (and they were), I thought they might be hard to come by and a headache for you. BTW, Shimano USA does not generally service JDM reels, but apparently in my case the bearing and shield (?) were interchangeable with other Stella 2500.- yo zuri hybrid line??
Yo-Zuri Hybrid is not actually "coated" it is a bonded nylon/ fluorocarbon. I have been fishing the line for more than a decade and would HIGHLY recommend the line at its pricing point. In recent years I have moved on to Seaguar Tatsu, but I still fish Hybrid #4 on my main smallmouth spinning rod.- Dedicated Sammy/Spook/Walk the Dog Rod
https://www.bassresource.com/fishing_lures/okuma-helios-reel-rod.html- So I’ve never caught a fish on a treble hook...
Well...The answers are a Red Eye Shad, Bandit 200 and a Norman Fat Boy.- Kentucky Has a New State Record Largemouth

Walmart Girl- Beginner Rod/Reel/Line Setup!
Keep an eye on our Flea Market. You might be able to pick up a St. Croix Avid or G.Loomis IMX "gently used" for the same cost of new lesser models. As an all-around rod I would specifically recommend St. Croix AVC70M/F or G. Loomis IMX MBR844C.- Fine tuning my gear
See if you like braided line, but for me it would be fluorocarbon. Braid tends to develop slack when you are fishing a slow bottom presentation.- GYCB Kut Tail Worm ?
I have heard that the 6.5" Kut Tail is more popular in Japan than the Senko. I Rig on a shaky head.- G Loomis IMX 844C
I have had two which have been passed forward. Perhaps the #1 rod that I have ever owned at its pricing point.- Weather or Solunar - What's more important?
Seems like a most guys catch fish when they are fishing!- SHIMANO RULES!
Recently sent a Shimano Stella 2500FS in for service. Turnaround time was about a week and the charge was -$0- My, my, my...- What are your staple colors?
Great way to start! I'll add Watermelon/ Red Flake to soft plastics, Red and Orange for lipless cranks and Redear (Norman Fat Boy) for your squarebill.- Do you Southerners wade?
Too dangerous for some of our "mature members". It's not about snakes or gators, it's slipping and falling. No big deal when you are younger, but a huge issue for old farts like me.- RattleTrap
Red with black accent right now, chrome & blue the rest of the year. Also, althouigh the Rattle Trap is a classic, the Red Eye Shad is a better "mouse trap".- Rate the song above you
Every Little Honky Tonk Bar https://www.iheart.com/content/2019-02-11-george-strait-describes-every-little-honky-tonk-bar-in-new-song/- Weather or Solunar - What's more important?
Weather, hands down.- I can't catch anything!
- Jig sizes, fall rate, bulk and when you like what
I sometimes fish a jig even when I know something else would be a better choice. Generally, I think soft plastics are #1, especially for better numbers. That said, my friend The Bait Monkey has helped me buy what has become my own personal tackle shop, so I fish other stuff a lot. Sometimes the fish want something "moving". Right now crankbaits and The Rig are hot here in the Mid South. - SHIMANO RULES!
