  3. The new Bandit Rack-It squarebills were introduced at this year's ICAST and are now available: https://www.lurenet.com/bandit-rack-it. Here in the Mid South we are just about to enter "Prime Time" for the fall crankbait bite. This lure offers a unique sound and sturdy construction so it can be fished very aggressively, especially in a rocky environment. Pickwick Lake and the Tennessee River are perfect testing grounds for this bait. My set-up is a custom Rainshadow Eternity/ Abu Garcia REVO4/ #11 Sunline Shooter Deifer Armilo. I do not "work" the lure other than varying the retrieve speed, the Rack-It has a very aggressive hunting action of its own. As far as color is concerned, pick your favorite, it's really the sound and hunting attributes that make all the difference. I think you will find this squarebill crankbait to be a great addition to your collection. If you fish the lure, please report your thoughts and results. Over the next several months I will update this post and hopefully add a picture of something special. Good luck!

  15. Geez...Who would have ever come up with that color?
  16. I use to be of the opinion that color did not matter and I still think it is not the most important variable, but... A few years ago I had the pleasure of discussing this topic with Big O. To paraphrase: "Let's say you are doing pretty well with a particular bait and color. Maybe you would do better with another color. When fishing is hot, that is EXACTLY the time to try something different."
  17. Over the years I have owned a number of Plano hard tackle boxes and soft bags. In fact, I still have 20 year old originals that I use for storage in the Man Cave. Nothing has ever "worn out", but the new and better sometimes catching my eye. My most recent acquisition is the Plano Guide Series Tackle Bag (3700). Topside Utili-Tackle™ Rail System and bungee strap secure 3700 Series StowAway® for quick access; raised over-molded surface keeps StowAway® from slipping Raised, waterproof Utili-Tackle™ Rail System Base with elevated rubber feet to lift above wet surfaces Utili-Tackle™ Rail System includes 34 accessory attachment points plus tie-down slots Clear zippered pocket inside lid Collapsible, zippered side pockets with external tool holders Large, zippered front pocket with HDPE D-rings and mesh slip pocket Large rear mesh slip pocket If you have a large collection and you need to carry some of everything, this is your ticket! My system is three fold: 1. Man Cave with shelves holding Plano plastic boxes, peg-board and rod holders so that everything is on display or easily accessible. 2. Guide Series 3700 with everything I might need on a trip. 3. Plano 3600 for what I plan to fish on a particular day. And by the way, this bag is handsome, too. http://www.planomolding.com/guide-series-tackle-bag-3700
