  1. Yep, it out fishes all other topwater lures combined!
  2. CONGRATULATIONS!
  3. My most productive ledge rig is the Rage Tail Thumper (Blue Fleck) T-rigged on a 6/0 EWG hook.
  4. Baitcasting Single hooks: #12 and #15 Seaguar Tatsu Treble Hooks: #11 Sunline Defier Shooter Armilo http://www.sunlineamerica.com/shooter-defier-armilo/ Spinning: #6 Tatsu

  7. The original "tube" was the Gizit. Invented in Arkansas, it was designed as a "do nothing" lure. Cast the Gizit out, put your rod down, light up a smoke and pop a top! Initially rigged on a jig head with an exposed hook. I fished them this way for years, but more recently have gone to inserted weights (weedless). The original Gitzit in "Baby Diaper Yellow" continues to be a staple in reservoirs on the White River (Beaver, Table Rock and Bull Shoals). I have have had good success with this on the Tennessee River. However, for smallmouth my "secret weapon" is the BPS Tender Tube #71. This and the Rage Tail Menace are my go-to below the Pickwick Dam.
  8. GREAT NEWS!
  9. Well, I give mine a 9... I have a 90 hp Yamaha that pushes to 25 mph which some would consider a disadvantage. For me the rig is perfect. Its greatest attribute is being able to get up and walk around. #2 is stability in choppy water. My days as a bull rider are over!
  10. Save some extra money and hire a guide at Lake Fork in late February or March. You will catch a ton of bass and learn a lot from your guided trip. Several members can recommend guides, but you will need to make arrangements now for Prime Time.
  11. Is that a vote for the Jets?
  12. Yeah, this is "Their Year", 22 years in a row...
  13. 7'2" GORK custom rod, MF (built by our very own Global Moderator ghoti) The blank is an Eternity Rainshadow from Batson The reel is a Shimano Stella 2500 series
  14. Okay boys, it's almost showtime! Besides your home team, who do you think gets there and who wins?
  15. Fishing my local ponds from the bank I usually only carry one rod and two or three baits. A typical day right now is this set-up: 7' spinning rod & reel #6 Seaguar Tatsu Rage Tail Structure Bug, GYCB Senko and Fat Ika
  16. Well, is there any hobby, sport or activity where you can learn ALL the nuances from the get-go? I don't think so. Here is a few specific thread that might be helpful for starters:
  17. You will always be a warrior.
  18. I have been doing business with Mike for several years now. With proper maintenance a quality reel can last a lifetime.
  19. Great advice, but the specific gear can have an impact on performance. Several of the modestly priced KastKing, Okuma and Abu Garcia reels are VERY user friendly.
  20. No issues at all. https://www.bassresource.com/fishing_lures/okuma-helios-reel-rod.html
