  1. "Soft" always works better for me.
  2. Wow! Talk about finding a bite...Great video.
  3. Maybe a copyright issue, There are some sites that don't want their content shared or have "borrowed" ours.
  4. I think the Sufix 832 is a very good braid, perhaps the best in your price range. For others looking for what I consider the Gold Standard, try Seaguar Smackdown and you won't want to fish any other braid...Promise!
  5. Bluebasser86 is as skilled as any multi-species fisherman I know. Pay paticular attention to all of the techniques he employees and the baits/ lures he suggests. From finesse (Ned Rig) to power (big swimbaits), this guy has it going on! Even if you are not fishing tournaments, I think some of his suggestion for competitive fishing will be helpful.
  6. My drag setting is always the same, slight release.

  8. Yo-Zuri #6 has a breaking strength of 11.9 lbs. Although I always recommend #6 for spinning tackle, I generally fish #4. The discrepancy is simply because I don't think most guys can get their mind wrapped around using #4 even though the breaking strength is 8.5 lbs. The smallmouth in my avatar and this one (7.49) were all caught on #4: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/lake-guntersville-2012.html
  9. I use them as swim jig trailers rigged vertical to look like a baitfish. My #1 presentation is a Siebert Outdoors 1/2 oz bluegill pattern and the Shellcracker in Hard Candy, California Craw or Green Pumpkin Sapphire. Cast and let the bait fall on slack line, then reel slowly just off the bottom. ALL OF THE ACTION is produced by the lure, you do nothing but reel.
  10. Yeah, right. I guess this scam has been going on for a while, but I just got my first call. So just be aware..The IRS will NEVER contact you with a robo-call. https://www.irs.gov/uac/newsroom/phone-scams-continue-to-be-a-serious-threat-remain-on-irs-dirty-dozen-list-of-tax-scams-for-the-2016-filing-season
  11. Structure, cover, contour, transition and depth. Cast at a 45* angle, out 20 yards or so from the bank. This will keep your bait/ lure in a better strike zone longer. If there is a dam on the water you fish, start there. Outside grasslines are usually good. Anything your perceive as a point is another target. ALWAYS fish on all sides of timber or a bush. If you finds submerged rocks that is another prime target.
  12. I might try some just because I like tungsten so much. Can you feel a difference?
  13. I have no idea why anyone would need to justify the cost of their hobby. "Affordability" is very subjective. If you "catch & keep' the cost per pound maybe small if you fish locally from the bank, but how can you justify the cost of "catch & release"? I think it's silly, but boils down to this: If it is just about catching fish, everything generally works regardless of the cost. However, for a lot of guys better gear is simply more fun to fish with.
  14. That's a beauty!
  15. Yes, but I only fish Fast Action with single hooks. Moderate or Slow is for treble hooks.
  16. Sounds good to me!

  18. Megabass Pop-R, Tonosama Frog pattern. Maximum casting distance and simple to use. http://megabassusa.com/products/popmax
