  1. You are probably right. Big O is a tall man and I am a little "height challenged".
  2. He just gets lucky now and then. BTW, he doesn't own ANY hard baits either...Imagine that.
  3. Well, I wish Big O would respond. I think this might be the ONLY rod he owns, but he owns a few!
  4. Light line is a MUST.
  5. Don't send the rod in, just have St. Croix send you a new tip-top.
  6. Specifically, I would try to find a deal or wait on a sale and pick up a Shimano CI4+ 2500FA and a St. Croix Avid AVS68MXF or maybe the AVS69MLXF.
  7. Well, you really don't even need to shop all over the internet to find more selection, better prices, free delivery and no sales tax. On top of that, the holiday sales are killer!
  8. And I have the PERFECT Senko rod!
  9. Good point and of course, you are right. I was thinking from the ground up, pouring your own heads and such.
  10. Well, making you own jigs can be fun and rewarding, but I think most would agree that it probably won't actually save you any money.
  11. Well, maybe someone else can be more helpful, but I don't think there are threadfin in the northeast.
  12. Threadfin are more generally referred to as yellowtail in the South. They don't like cold water and begin to sicken at around 45*, 42* is fatal. Millions die during a shad kill on the Tennessee River, but the population recovers quickly. I don't believe we have had a kill this year, but they occur at least twice a decade.
  13. Looks like a threadfin, but I don't think they are native in RI.
  14. You can fish just about anything on the rod, but as you build a collection of technique specific gear you will want a different rod or maybe several! For example I have rigs dedicated to shallow cranks, deep diving, topwater, jerkbaits and lighter lures. I don't really NEED but one or maybe none, but this is my hobby.
  15. All time favorite: https://search.yahoo.com/yhs/search?hspart=mozilla&hsimp=yhs-006&ei=utf-8&fr=ytff1-tyc&p=shut%20up%20and%20fish&type=

  17. And the beat goes on...and on and on...
  18. Hmm... I would use you gift card for something else and buy your jigs from Siebert Outdoors. http://www.siebertoutdoors.com/
  19. I don't know how a city finds itself in such a pickle, but it takes years to screw up this much. Memphis is short 400 officers. That's not "staff', it's boots on the ground! How is that possible? To put the number in perspective, the rookie class is around 60 recruits and not all of them will make the cut. That number is insufficient to simple replace retiring officers and those leaving the department. If you are qualified and interested in a career in law enforcement, there are immediate openings here. I think it's time for the State of Tennessee to take control of the city government. Maybe Nashville can save this town.
  20. If there is a local Mom & Pop tackle shop, that is you very best option, especially if you become a "regular". In the Florence. AL area, Gary's is the ticket: Gray's Tackle Shop OPEN NOW Today:8:00 am - 4:00 pm 2813 N Jackson Hwy, Sheffield, AL 35660 (256) 978-3154
  21. I think you nailed it! You think we could do this with Power Ball numbers?
  22. When I moved to Germantown in 1997 this was the first pond I "discovered". Coincidently, I was first introduced the the Senko about the same time. For more than a decade we caught both numbers and size. During that time the pond had excellent cover, especially during the spawn and into the summer. Then, for what ever reason, the city decided to kill the vegetation. The fishing has been very poor since this action was taken. I don't fish Neshoba much anymore.
