  1. ARE YOU READY TO RUMBLE?
  2. Welcome aboard!
  3. Whatever you use for a spinnerbait will be fine. I'm a big fan of #12 Yo-Zuri Hybrid, Seaguar AbrazX and Tatsu.
  4. Give them away. We have lots of guys who would like your stuff regardless of the brand. Several years ago I had a similar stash of Net Baits, but after switching to Rage Tail I knew I would never fish the brand again. They have a huge following and I think this was a great gift for a few guys.
  5. Still wearing the same Cabela's Guideware that is pictured in my avatar. It's THE BOMB!
  6. Yes, in that context a lot of things would be included, especially professional sports. Can you imagine trying to explain why a guy would be paid $20MM to "play" for a few hours and only work six months a year?
  7. It's outta here! The storm was pretty and did not cause any damage to speak off. Memphis took the necessary precautions and for the most part the city shut down. Kids had a ball and my neighborhood was invaded by snowmen! It's cold today, but lots of sunshine. I hope those of you in the storm's path will heed the warnings, stay off the roads and be safe.
  8. Sunny with a high of 40* tomorrow: http://www.accuweather.com/en/us/charlotte-nc/28202/daily-weather-forecast/349818?day=2 47* and rain in Denver: http://www.weather.com/weather/today/l/Denver+CO+USCO0105:1:US#/!
  9. I think most bass fisherman look down on fishing live bait. So what?
  10. That's sweet! I think my project this year will be adding a few more current threads to the "Best Of". When you or anyone have nominees, please point them out to me. I would appreciate the help and some other viewpoints as to what is important for our members. This would include any threads from every section. -Kent
  11. Well, I have been fairly successful in facing my addiction the past several years. With the exception of jigs and jerkbaits I only buy things I am going to fish. Unfortunately that was not always the case. I am REALLY trying to fish everything I own, at least once, but 90% or more has only been in the water one time and that was in my pool. My "reserves" are probably 4X what I carry and I carry a lot.
  12. Yeah, I feel the same way about Tom Brady, but I won't be rooting for him this weekend!
  13. Life is a marathon, not a sprint. I really got the bug in 1997 when I "discovered" the Senko. For the past 19 years I have built a nice of collection of high end gear. Almost ever rod & reel I have ever owned is still being fished by friends or other BassResource.com members. Although I occasionally buy this year's newest and bestest (sic) lures, most of my collection has been accumulated over the years. Of course there are exceptions, but for the most part I only add one rod & reel a year and try to sell or sometimes give away stuff I am not using or replacing. Be patient and selective and you too can have almost everything you want, it just takes time.
  14. Well, for the past 19 years I fished with friends that are hardcore live bait fishermen, especially below the Pickwick Dam. My MO was to fish artificials until they caught 10 smallmouth between them. Usually the score would be 10 - 0, but occasionally I picked up a nice fish or two. I'm not giving up live bait. One day last October was the ONLY time an artificial has EVER outfished live bait for me:
  15. I have kinda given up getting mad. Instead, I like to play with them, too!
  16. Well, I'm just saying on a given day some of the stuff you are not using are game changers. I don't like throwing The Rig, but if you are a tournament fisherman around her (and I am not), you cannot win without it in the early spring and fall. Senkos? No doubt the #1 lure for recreational and local tournament fishermen. The Cut-R can be "magic", too.
  17. Not really, but line diameter can effect maximum depth.
  18. Hmm...I guess it's "Different strokes for different folks". How 'bout indoor plumbing?
  19. Worst day: Five Siebert Outdoors Jigs on five casts.
