  1. Well, that's about to change.
  2. You better carry some extra Magnum EWG ShakE2. When the guys see these up close and personal everyone is going to snap them up!
  3. CONGRATULATIONS!
  4. Welcome aboard!
  5. Geez... You would think this dude would know Black on Black is the ticket! Oops...I might need to check...It could be Red on Black... And BTW, keep tweaking and bending these things back into place. Like a fine wine they get better with age.
  6. I think your budget would be better allocated picking one or two reservoirs and renting a boat. Maybe some other guys will share a secret lake with you, but the big lakes are really not much from the bank.

  8. Well, I was hoping this would have a short life and die on its own. We are keeping a close eye on "content". The story is all over the internet so I guess we will let it run for awhile. However, if I were not a Moderator I would have no interest in following this topic or commenting, especially here on a bass fishing forum.

  10. Welcome aboard!
  11. WTI now back to $47.95 What a roller coaster ride this is!
  12. Nice fish, great pic!
  13. Let's move on. Goodnight Irene.
  14. Great article on the Home Page: http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/Bagwell/bagwells_bass_tactics_19.html
  15. Take a look at Glenn's: http://www.bassresource.com/fishing_lures/review-pinnacle-rod-reel.html The Pinnacle Optimus XiHS is a more "sophisticated" reel with dual braking, but I prefer the simplicity of the Primmus.
  16. There are several reviews we have done on both reels. Here is one which will link you to others: http://www.bassresource.com/fishing_lures/dhc7-primmus-review.html I have both reels and my preference is the Primmus. The centrifugal breaking system on this reel is VERY user friendly. Basically set it and forget it! This is Jeff's review of the Optimus http://www.bassresource.com/fishing_lures/perfecta-optimus-review.html
  17. Pick your favorite lures, almost anything works in the spring. These are some specific suggestions: Topwater: PopR. Sammy, Spook, Cavitron Buzzbait, Rage Shad Shallow crankbaits: Norman Fat Boym DT6, Bandit 200, Red Eye Shad Spinnerbaits & blades: MegaStrike StrikeBack, Siebert Outdoors Cosmic, Rage Blade Soft plastics: Rage Structure Bug, Cut-R, Baby Craw & Craw; MegaStrike MegaTube Craw, Senko, Fat Ika, Kut-tail on a ShakE2 Jigs: Siebert Outdoors Swim Jig (bluegill pattern)
  18. Those fish are exactly why stripers have been introduced throughout much of the country. A 30 lb striper WILL eat that shad!
  19. Well, let's look at a very specific example: Lake Fork in Texas Although this lake produces the biggest number of bass in the Texas Lunker Program, the fishing pressure is simply enormous, especially during the spawn. Bed fishing is a HUGE part of the attraction for this lake. During this period literally thousands of fishermen pound this water, seven days a week. There appears to be no impact on the fishery. Disclaimer: I don't ever intentionally fish for bedding bass, but that's just me. Other guys really enjoy the challenge and I can appreciate that, I have watched them play!
  20. Although I am not at all opposed to killing the bears that become a public nuisance, this particular bear would make a grand addition to a public zoo. Seems like a wasted opportunity to me.
  21. WOW! If you need a lesson on why NOT to be involved in commodity futures, you don't need to look far. A week ago WTI was trading at $43 and change, the trend was decidedly down and the pricing looked like it might break through $40 a barrel. Well, that's yesterday's news! Today WTI is currently at $53.37, but traded earlier at $49.69. Volatile, you think?
  22. Man, it's cabin fever time... Okay guys, I get to read almost every post in every section of this Forum. To say some questions are redundant is redundant! We encourage new members to spend some time looking around the site, reading the fishing articles and watching our videos. If you really want to ramp up the learning curve, the articles and associated links will get you there faster than posts on the Forum. That being said, the Forum is based on give and take, questions and answers and in most cases opinion and bias. So, What's the best knot to tie the best lure to the best line on the best reel on the best rod? These questions will be asked again and again. You have ABSOLUTELY NO OBLIGATION to respond, just move on. For stuff you care about, interaction on the Forum should be fun. Let's try to be a little more courteous and gentle. -Kent
