Not everyone will appreciate the difference, it depends a lot on what you are starting with. I have had several "perfectly good" reels supertuned and the difference is stunning.

Briefly, the 5-Year Challenge resulted from some board members expressing the opinion that the PQ reel was a “one-season” reel (it would be completely worn out after a "season"), and certainly wouldn’t stay in an angler’s arsenal for as long as 5 years. The subject reel was used to test those opinions. I think the term was "disposable".

My dedicated jerkbait rod would work just fine for most topwater lures. This is an Avid AVC66MF with a soft tip. The reel is a Scorpion 1000.

I have both size Curados and Cores. My preference is the 50 simply because it fits my hand best.

The Guidewear pictured in my avatar is over 12 years old and still lookls brand new. I have the unlined bib & parka. In cold weather I wear Under Armour. Be patient, the Guidewear is often on sale.
