  1. Anyone else fishing this tournament?
  2. You need a 7' Medium Power Moderate Action for some of your treble hook lures.
  3. Not silly, just fun to have the PERFECT set-up for a given technique. That said, you really only NEED three rods. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/130634-rod-selection-the-basics/

  5. Not everyone will appreciate the difference, it depends a lot on what you are starting with. I have had several "perfectly good" reels supertuned and the difference is stunning.
  6. Briefly, the 5-Year Challenge resulted from some board members expressing the opinion that the PQ reel was a “one-season” reel (it would be completely worn out after a "season"), and certainly wouldn’t stay in an angler’s arsenal for as long as 5 years. The subject reel was used to test those opinions. I think the term was "disposable".
  7. Timely question as I am rigging up for a charity tournament this weekend. This is my plan, but of course, always subject to change! Starting line-up: Cavitron Chatterbait/ Rage Tail Structure Bug trailer Megabass Ito Vision110 Later: Rage Bug (Jika rig) Norman Fat Boy LC RC 2.5 Rage Toad GYCB Kreature Sworming Hornet/ LFT Live Majic Shad Double Fluke Rig ( YUM Houdini Shad)) Panic Box: Baby Rage Craw GYCB Senko & Fat Ika
  8. That's a beauty and a great story!
  9. Welcome aboard!
  10. From "Closing Time" You don't have to go home but you can't stay here
  11. Cast out and hold the line firmly between your thumb and index finger during the retrieve. That's tight enough!
  12. Big week for Peyton and the Broncos...next stop in Boston. I like Tom Brady, I hope this game turns into a slug-fest, mano a mano!
  13. My dedicated jerkbait rod would work just fine for most topwater lures. This is an Avid AVC66MF with a soft tip. The reel is a Scorpion 1000.
  14. I have both size Curados and Cores. My preference is the 50 simply because it fits my hand best.
  15. Arky Jig Arky jigs are a proven design that is very versatile. The Arky jig works good in rock, light weeds, brush, and even skips. It is truly a great all around jig for many applications. Specifically, Siebert Outdoors Dredge Arkyy Jig: http://www.siebertoutdoors.com/Dredge-Arky-Jig-110.htm
  16. Thanks Mike! :respect-059:
  17. Hmm...Is that funny?
  18. The best smallmouth fishing in the Mid South is just cranking up.
  19. Great advice! There is no way to judge a new lure or technique if the fish just aren't there or not biting.
  20. The Guidewear pictured in my avatar is over 12 years old and still lookls brand new. I have the unlined bib & parka. In cold weather I wear Under Armour. Be patient, the Guidewear is often on sale.
