Lure Specialization Vs Variety
There are usually a few baits at any point in time that are "hot". Right now what's working for me are Chatterbaits, Spinnerbaits and The Bug. We (Mid South) are on the verge of Square Bills, Alabama Rigs, topwater and jerkbaits.

Flipping And Pitching Baits For Muddy Water
The Rage Structure Bug has been on fire for me. I am fishing it Jika Rigged, but I talked with Big O recently and he has the best luck fishing it with a traditional Texas Rig.

Biggest Fish You've Ever Seen (But Not Caught....)
Fishing for walley at night on Bull Shoals lake I hooked up with what I was hoping was a new World Record! I was fishing a LC Pointer 128 when this big girl struck. Unfortunately it morphed into a gigantic gar. The biggest smallmouth was landed by my late fishing partner and best friend, Speedy Madewell. 10 lbs netted and weighed by me. The largemouth was hooked by our very own Glenn May at the Pickwick BassResource Trip Road. He was fishing a Siebert Outdoors Cosmic Spinnerbait (white). Unfortunately the line broke just before we could get her in the net. 10+ for sure, but a 12.5 was recently caught in the same general area and was weighed in tournament collecting a check for the "Big Bass".

World Series....i Will Be There!
Growing up in Kansas City, I was there when the Chiefs won the Super Bowl in 1970. I was a Senior in high school. It's been awhile. The Royals were a great team throughout the Brett Era, but the only World Series win was in 1985. Just making it to The Show is quite a feat after 29 years. Good luck boys!

Line Size
Spinning: #6 Yo-Zuri Hybrid (11.9 lb breaking strength) Baitcasting: #12 Hybrid (19.5 lbs breaking strength) With braid you just need to set your drag properly, the stated breaking strength is not that important. Most guys use 20lb or 30lb for spinning tackle; 40 or 50 for baitcasting.

Ebola: Hype Or Legitimate Threat?
The story is on the front page of Fox News EVERY day. There is a huge following, but for some unkown reason the situation has not been resolved. I guess there is something that we are not being told. Regarding Ebola...There are no "direct flights" from the affected countries. The simple solution is refusing to issue visas to people from this region of Africa and any other hot spot that pops up. There is no excuse for refusing to protect the folks. An aggressive program should be in place.

Problems With Live Bait And Circle Hooks
You can hook the baitfish up through the bottom lip then up through the roof of the mouth. #2 horizontally through the nostrils. You will detect a bite either by a traditional "strike" or the bait will just get heavy. Sometimes your line will move out, but that's pretty obvious. The key is NOT to ever set the hook and that can be really hard for bass fishermen to get use to! FIRMLY lift your rod tip and reel, the fish will set the hook. Constantly keep pressure on the fish with a tight line. 95% of the time the hook-up is in the jaw joint.

Pumping A Swim Jig
Best rigging for me has been both the NorthStar Original Swim Jig and Sieberts Outdoors. I'm using both the Rage Tail Menace and Shellcracker for trailers.

Silver Buddy
Fish it on the rig that you fish weighted plastics. Mine is a BCR893/ Curado 50E/ Yo-Zuri #12.

Any Tips For Hybrid Striper
Look for baitfish, that is the key. NOTHING beats The Rig and the easiest way to fish the thing is drifting with your trolling motor at about 1.5 mph.

The Road To The Super Bowl
Well, a high point for the Niners was the drive just before halftime. That was impressive! Otherwise, the Broncos had all the Karma on their side.

Silver Buddy
Give the Sworming Hornet/ LFT Live Magic Shad a try. This specific retrieve is critical: Allow the lure to fall on slack line. When it hits the bottom reel up quickly, but DO NOT lift your rod. Repeat the free-fall and reel up quickly. The strike will occur on the fall 100% of the time.

Do I Really Want To Spend The Extra Money For A Stradic Ci4+ Over Say The Symetre Fl?
The Symetre is a fine reel, but I suspect after awhile you will be thinking, "I should have bought the Stradic".
