Hey Fellas! Need Some Pointers For Pre-Spawn..spawn?
Square bill is working, so stick with that. Otherwise try jerbaits, Bandit 200, small swimbaits and a swim jig.

I Think I'm Getting Banned
Raider is a "Special Situation". 3700+ posts and no warnings. Always on the edge, but never over the line, except with those of oriental descent. He has been awarded a one-time-only "GET OUT OF JAIL FREE" pass.

Most Versatile 7'0" ~ 7'3" Mh Baitcasting Rod ?
The 843 has a softer tip and would probably be a better choice for you. The 844 is for dedicated weighted soft plastics and jigs, but can be used for all medium to heavy lures. Just to complicate matters, another favorite of mine is the MBR842C/ Core 50 Mg. This is my dedicated swim jig and small swimbait rod.

Well, there you have two completely different views. Obviously it's boils down to personal preference.

How Do You Organize Tackle In Your Garage/shop?
My man cave is a small storage room in the garage.I have rod racks on one wall; two tier shelving on the floor to about 3' and then pegboard on two walls. All my "reserves" are visible and easily accessable. In a Plano 3600 I have 4 Plano boxes and side compartments filled with everything I "might" need organized by categorey (soft plastics, hard baits, jigs, etc.). In a smaller Plano soft bag I keep all the stuff I plan to use on a given day. What might strike you as odd is that I rarely access anything in this bag. My rods are rigged and ready!

If you were recommending a Pinnacle Perfecta which model would that be?

Understanding Braking Systems
The main difference in my experience is that centrifugal brakes are basically one and done. Magnetic brakes usally need some adjustment every time out and sometimes while fishing!

Wow! That's some fish!

Understanding Braking Systems
No, that's magnetic. Centrifugal usually has six little plastic weights on spokes..

I Think I'm Getting Banned
Actually, I flagged you because we had some kind of glitch which would not let me send you a friendly PM. The issue was some post that was not "family friendly". I think it was a post on the "Joke" thread. Anyhow, no big deal and you are not on any "watch list". -Kent

Dinner Tonight
I have heard there is an issue with mercury levels in barracuda. Is that just an old wives tale?

What Makes Rage Tail Soft Plastics Different?
If you have a Rage Craw, lets take a closer look at the bait. The first thing I like is the packaging. Big O takes special pride in his designs and delivers the product to us in PERFECT condition. Design? Subtle differences, but in the case of the DB Craw, VERY specific. This was deigned by Big O in conjunction with the input of touring pros and Strike King Pro Staffers. The result is a more subtle action than the Rage Craw and Lobster. Now for the "special touch". Examine the edging carefully. There is an exclusive patent on this design. This is the feature that creates a unique quiver by these baits. The patterns themselves were hand crafted by Big O himself. Now the knock? Some people have issues with the plastic formula. These baits are certainly much softer than "generics", perhaps on par or close to GYCB products. Well, that's a matter of personal preference. I have a VERY STRONG bias towards soft plastic and have in fact asked Big O personally if he could offer another version extra soft! I think this makes a deciding difference, " From a human perspective, they're like Twinkies".

Co-Angler Advice...advice For The Back Of The Boat
Alternative strategy: Troll a Rage Tail Eeliminator C-rigged, especially if you are being front-ended. If you get hung up, break it off nd retie rather than holding up the boater. An alternative bait I like is the Rage Lizard, also C-rigged.

Bass Guys In The North Use Lighter Tackle. "yankee Sticks"?
As a "collector" I really don't have a general preference, but I do have a specific preference: Finesse = spinning gear Power = baitasting tackle

I Can't Believe I Heard This
The rig might make a nice display in your man cave, but I would retire it, too.

Favorite Square Bill?
#1 for me is the Norman Fat Boy (redear). I am also a big fan of the Lucky Craft 2.5.

Your Rating Scale
Soft plastics are my strong suit and I really thought fishing a jig would come naturally. Not the case for me either. Whatg is really stange is how one day it just "clicked". My suggestion to anyone struggling with jigs is to fish NOTHING ELSE for awhile. That's how it worked for me. Nowadays I find myself fishing jigs even when I KNOW something elase would be a better choice!
