    Update?

  5. We seem to have quite a few husband-wife teams.
  6. Any new shows that you consider special?
  7. Blast from the past! Good luck this year Deb.
  8. Man, that was fun!
  9. He is me! The rod is Medium Power/ Moderate Action. Great rod for most treble hook lures and techniques. http://www.pinnaclefishing.com/shop/p-87-perfecta-dhc5.aspx#page=page-1
  10. Great rod at a modest price: http://www.bassresource.com/fishing_lures/pinnacle-perfecta-optimus-review.html
  11. I think you will find certain crankbaits that stand out. It's hard to find the time and patience to sort them out, but the pros go through a lot of what appear to be identical lures and only keep one or two. Some small difference makes all the difference.
  12. If you decide to go with fluorocarbon, AbrazX is a better choice on baitcasting gear. I have been experimenting with braid/ fluoro leader. There are several advantages, but most important to me is the ability to break-off when you need to.
  13. Several interesting questions here.
  14. After you fish the line awhile, resurrect this thread and give us an update.
  15. There is no better combination! Trolling The Rig will locate the bass, then stop and "fish".

  17. Time to start working on the menu. Anyone have something extra special you would like to share?
  18. http://www.bassresource.com/fishing_lures/pinnacle-optimus-xlt-dhc-review.html Exactly what you are looking for!
  19. Siebert Mata Jig http://www.siebertoutdoors.com/Mata-Jigs_c18.htm Rage Tail DB Craw http://www.siebertoutdoors.com/Rage-Tail-DB-Craw-013.htm
  20. Hmm... Just a matter of priorities I think. Although I don't own any $100 lures, I know lots of guys who spend thousands of dollars for "add-ons" on their $40,000 pickups and $50,000 boats.
  21. Okay, I understand. Here are some other things I consider "must have". MegaStrike Cavitron and Mega Tube Craw Rage Tail Toad, Menace, Shellcracker, Eeliminator, Baby Craw and Craw, Lizard, Thumper and Cut-R GYCB Senko and Fat Ika YUM Houdini Shad
  22. Rather than filling up a tackle box, why not just buy a few basics and grow your collection. I suspect I am pretty typical when it comes to collecting "stuff" verses fishing the lures. I would guess I probably use less than 5% and a lot of the 95% has never been wet! Start at the top and work the water column down. Just start with your favorite color. If you want to stick with BPS, they have their version of just about everything I am going to suggest in this thread. Top: Pop-R, Zara Spook and Puppy, Sammy, Jitter Bug, Original Floating Rapala and Dare Devil Jerkbaits: Smithwick Rogue and Rapala X-Rap XR06 1'-5' Bomber Square A, LC 2.5, Bandit 200, Wiggle Wart and Red Eye Shad 5'-10' Rapala Shad Rap SR06 or 07, Silver Buddy and the Red Eye Shad fits here, too 10+ Fat Free Shad and DD22 Other lures I like: Berkley Hollow Belly or Shadalicious, spinnerbaits (white, chartreuse and white & chartreuse) That will get you started, save some money and I'll bet you fish them all!
