  1. Astute observation!
  2. Woo-Hoo!
  3. The second and third pinned threads at the top of this section should help. We also have an extensive library and videos. Regarding the reel, buy a "gently used" Citica or maybe spend a few more bucks on a Curado from our Flea Market.
  4. Try another brand of line. Two suggestions are Yo-Zuri Hybrid #12 and Seaguar AbrazX.
  5. "Branded products" are built on a foundation of trust and consistency. Most of the fishing products I use are made by companies that have proven themselves over time. There are lots of big names I just don't like based on past experience with their tackle. Then there are always exceptions. Although I'm hardcore Shimano, I have been VERY impressed with Pinnacle rods & reels. They are still fighting the "entry level" label, but their newer tackle is a far cry from the blister packs most people associate with the name. I hope Pinnacle will be successful in reinventing the brand.
  6. Forget about the jerkbait. Jerkbaits work best in clear to slightly stained water, but not muddy. More importantly, you will lose your jerkbait fishing from shore, maybe on the first cast!
  7. Little George, Silver buddy and G ay Blade
  8. Then fish it on a balloon: http://www.ozarkanglers.com/beaver-lake/2011/12/07/using-balloons-for-stripers/
  9. Pointer is my favorite (Table Rock) followed by the Sammy (Aurora Black).
  10. We have a section for "Other Species". If you want to talk saltwater please post there. -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior Global Moderator
  11. If I need more than Medium Power I will be fishing a baitcaster.
  12. Yo-Zuri Hybrid #6 (11.9 lb breaking strength)
  13. What he meant to say is that Rage Tail has it all...Start with the Rage Craw.
  14. That's great! Super Stars having some fun and not taking life so seriously...gotta love it.
  15. The Cavitron for sure! If you are looking for an alternative, especially in heavy cover, pick up a bag of the Rage Tail Rage Shad.
  16. It targetsn the perfect rigging and makes the hook weedless. I think the slots are a great idea and appreciate them being incorporated on some of the new Rage Tail Baits, too!
  17. Welcome aboard!
  18. Here ya go: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/122952-upgraded-shimano-core-50mg7/
  19. Duncan Knot (a.k.a. 16-20 and Pitzen Knot) http://www.animatedknots.com/duncan/index.php
  20. I ordered some yesterday. Projected delivery is 8/19.
  21. I have a variety of hollow frogs, but I am having my best frog year fishing the Rage Tail Toad. http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=rage+tail+toad&qs=SC&sk=HS1&FORM=QBIR&pq=rage%20taiol%20toad&sc=2-15&sp=2&qs=SC&sk=HS1
  22. Well go ahead and try..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P3qGbW2sLPo.
  23. For most treble hook lures and especially crankbaits the recommended action is moderate or slow. Fiberglass has come a long way, but rod makers have also introduced graphite rods with these actions, too.
  24. Keep the line you have. If you decide that fishing is something you are going to get into, you will need a new reel, that one is way too big. As far as respooling, most guys use cheap backing and 75-80 yards of their "good line".
