Help Me Pick A New Reel
Before you buy, let's see what Shimano brings out this week at ICAST.

Old Vs. New
The CH50MG is just a fun reel! However, I don't think it is as strong as a Curado 50E.

Why Are Lefties So Discriminated Against???
Let's get technical, as there are in fact reasons, not just some lame holdover from days past that put the handles where they are. What will move the fish during retrieval is placed to the strong hand! A baitcast is designed to be used as a winch, so it is the reel that retrieves the fish. Hence if you are right handed the handle is in your right hand. A spinning reel is designed to pick up unloaded or loose line, not retrieve the fish. Hence it is the rod that does the retrieval, so it is the rod that is in your strong hand. If you are right handed then the pole goes to the right hand. George Welcome Sebastian Florida

Help On All Around Baitcaster Line. Is Fluoro Bad Idea For Topwater Baits?
Try a spool of Yo-Zuri Hybrid. Most guys like it, some don't. Either way, it's am inexpensive experiment. I recommend #6 on spinning tackle, #12 for baitcasting gear. http://yo-zuri.com/Products/Yo-Zuri_Fishing_Line/details/Yo-Zuri_Hybrid.html

Ticked Off!!!
Geez... There are two great copolymer lines: P-Line and Yo-Zuri. Yo-Zuri is much more "user friendly".

Got Free Carrot Stix, Fireline Or Nanofil
I don't remember a single thread that recommended Nanoline. Yo-Zuri Hybrid is a great line at a very good price. Otherwise, give Tuf-Line, Seaguar or Kanzen a try.

Y U M Houdini Shad
Had a little luck this weekend with a double rigged YUM Houdini Shad. Medium light AVS66MLF, Tuf-Line mainline, Tatsu #6 leader. The rig was weightless with Trokar 2/0 Offset Worm Hooks. To set this up slide a free swivel up the line followed by a tiny bead, then tie another swivel to the mainline. Cut one leader about 2' and the other 18". Hook-up the shad and tie them to the leaders. The retrieve I used was letting the baits settle on or near the bottom, then reel SLOW and steady with an occasional twitch. When you detect a strike, reel quickly and lift your rod. This will set the hook without a traditional hook-set.

Question... How Much Florocarbon Line.....
About 6" above the reel so that the knot never comes into play.
-
Braid Or Fluorocarbon For T-Rigs?
I'm leaning towards 30 lb Kanzen with a 20 lb Tatsu leader

Fluoro Users: What Lb Test Do You Prefer For Jigs?
