  1. Well, chances are you are not going to like your gift unless it is alcohol, but here is another idea: Buy an Alabama Rig. Unless one of your kin is a fisherperson, they won't know what the heck that thing is for. Then trade whatever you get for a present!
  2. A&M vs OU should be fun!
  3. That was easy!
  4. It's interesting how consistant these polls have been over the years. Always small samples (participants), but a standard result of +/- 60% Shimano vs. the combined total for the field.
  5. I sure hope you can makes it to Pickwick.
  6. Great post! I hope you guys will consider coming over to Pickwick for the RoadTrip in May.
  7. Seems simple and straight forward. I would just add #12 to be specific about the Hybrid.
  8. 12 pound - one ounce brown fish! :santa-107:
  9. I'm sold on MegaStrike, but here is a mixture Mattlures posted for swimbaits: Catch and scale a bluegill retaining as much slime as possible. Mix this goo into Vaseline, just enough so the scales will stick to your lure or bait.
  10. The only problem I have with the PopMax is that I don't use any other topwater hard baits anymore. I really like the LC Sammy and Gunfish, but it seems I didn't actually throw either this year.
  11. The rod can be used for anything you like. When you buy your next rod consider one with Moderate Action for treble hook lures. A perfect example is a St. Croix Avid AVC66MM.
  12. On the other hand, the right color can make good fishing better. Sometimes it's critical.
  13. I have two specific suggestions: NorthStar Original Swim Jig, Sexy Shad w/ Rage Tail Menace, Blue Glimmer Siebert Outdoors Grass Jig, Black w/ Rage Tail Single Tail Grub, Blue
  14. That may change.
  15. Great pic, too!
  16. 3/4 oz Chrome & Blue
  17. I don't have this exact model, but a similar rod, I think: LEC 70MHF. I have it mounted with a Calais which balances perfectly. For the most, part this is my spinnerbait rig.
  18. Baitcasting: New: Citica Used: Curado 200E7 Spinning: New: Symetre Used: Stradic CI4 Strong, smooth, silent and reliant. I fish Shimano.
  19. It is a backlash nightmare, so it gets used mainly for flipping at pitching. That being said, I never know how the drag will respond. I have set the drag tight and the very next cast set the hook and backlash on the hook set. I then tried to tighten it more and couldn't, so I loosened it then re tightened it. Maybe I got a dud, but all but one reel I have got with the Pinnacle name on it has been a dud. Love the rod though. There are two possible reasons for the problem you are having with the reel: Either it's not "dialed in" or it is defective. If you are confident in your settings, send the reel to Pinnacle Customer Service with a detailed description of the problem. They will repair the reel or most likely, send you a new replacement.
  20. I have a Pinnacle combination and love it! http://www.bassresource.com/fishing_lures/pinnacle-optimus-xlt-dhc-review.html
