Opinions On G Loomis Nrx 893C And Imx Mbr 844C
The Legend Elite series is comparable to the G. Loomis GLX. Probably not NRX.

Scents
I don't think it makes any difference on hard lures and soft baits will be lost before any "build up" can occur. If you are really concerned, wash your hard baits in soap and warm water, rinse thoroughly.

Opinions On G Loomis Nrx 893C And Imx Mbr 844C
The NRX893C is primarily designed for weightless soft plastics. I own the BCR version. I suspect this will become your favorite rod and you will probably find other techniques that fit (soft plastic swimbaits). The MBR 844C is a classic, generally thought of as a jig and weighted soft plastics rod. I think you will like the st. Croix also. I would keep them all!

Best Baitcaster ~$100
You can find some great deals on "gently used" gear in our Flea Market. A Citicia E should run $85-$100; Curado E $115-$125. I prefer the 50E with the smaller frame, but I own both this and the 200. I bought both of the reels off the Flea Market.

Your mono is just fine. Next time you buy new line give the Yo-Zuri Hybrid #6 a try. I think you will like it, too!

Fat Ika Problem
Here's a simple solution: Measure your hook against the Fat Ika. Run the point straight through the body, bringing the point up so it is either right on the bait or Texposed. Now, push the eye throught the body so it comes out on top. That's about 1/4" below the skirt attachement, but you don't need to be exact and you will get the hang of if quickly. Now, let's take a look at the rigging. The Fat Ika should be straight with the hook point right up against the plastic,

Hook Sharpening - Whats The Point?
Most of the hooks I use cannot be sharpened. I suggest replacing hooks. However, my friend and Administrator, Keri, is a HUGE fan of sharpening hooks. She tuned a spinnerbait I would have thrown away. I hope Keri sees this post and responds.

Sworming Hornet Question
I like the LFT Live Magic Shad as a trailer. Cast the Sworming Hornet and let if fall to the bottom on slack line. When your line stops sinking on the surface, your lure has hit the bottom. Immediately reel up quickly without raising your rod. The blade will lift the lure. Four or five fast cranks, then let it fall again on slack line. Repeat until you feel you are "out of the zone." Two years ago on the BR RoadTrip I caught 78 bass in one day, mostly on this lure. Although it is very productive on the river, I can't keep it out of the rocks. I suggest you target gravel beds and lake points where you have some chance of retrieving a hang-up.
