  1. STOP! If you don't know how to get the cover off, you shouldn't be working on those fine reels. Get a junk reel to practice on first. If you can't find one locally, I have an old Quantum you can have for free. If you want it, send me a PM. -Kent
  2. Man, those are some fine fish!
  3. Me, too! Nice fish, great pic!
  4. Terminator Avatar 300 Ten Commandments Casablanca
  5. I like the jig suggestion. I'll add the Swarming Hornet/ LFT Live Magic Shad.
  6. Nominated on behalf of Team Depends, my first love and all time favorite:
  7. I have caught a lot of 4-8 lb bass on Matt Lure's Baby Bass.
  8. I got a chuckle when I saw the add for the spro dawg in bassin'. I have really good luck with L.C.'s sammy in MS "american shad" so my eye was drawn to spro's "old glory" color. I bought "Old Glory" and compared it directly with the Pointer in "American Shad". Maybe the action will be different, but the color is identical and the profile is very similar.
  9. Swap the Abbadabbado for a CH50MG and that is a great suggestion! Otherwise: Casting: MBR844C/ CU200E7 or Core 50MG7 Spinning: SJR783S or SJR843S/ Stradic CI4
  10. The most basic mix might be something like this: 5" Senko, Fat Ika and Rage Tail Craw Rat-L-Trap Zara Spook Floating Rapala MegaStrike StikeBack Spinnerbait, white with two willow blades Here are a few "Best Of BR" threads with more suggestions: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1199915688/ http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1143177139 p.s. "The Best Of BassResource" is located at the top of each section. All of those threads make for some interesting reading.
  11. I use and recommend MH or H Power/ Fast Action. I was shoocked to hear that others prefer a tip with more moderate action. What's your take?
  12. I was a HUGE fan long before MegaStrike became a BR sponsor. If you haven't given it a try, you are cheating yourself! p.s. Pick up a couple of bags of the new MegaBug, too!
  13. Drag washers compress over time. Loosing the drag will increase its useful life.
  14. Just picked up two in Nashville. We are on a BIG jerkbait bite on the Tennessee River right now. I'll post results shortly.
  15. Here's my take: Bobby was kind enough to send me a few MegaBugs early on. Last summer ghoti and I fished the Tennessee River, north of Shilo, technically, Kentucky Lake. Fishing was fun, but the "catching" was mediocre. Swiched to the MegaStrike MegaBug for the first time. Caught several green fish flipping and pitching in cover, weightless. After moving to sheer cliffs and deep water I added a 1/4 oz tungsten bullet weight, unpegged. Within a few minutes, BAM!, ~4 lb smallmouth. If you aren't fishing the MegaBug, you are cheating yourself.
  16. Well, I don't know. It's really hard to imagine without actually fishing the rods. I haven't held one yet and maybe it would be best not to! :
  17. Try a few Wiggle Warts, too!
  18. Well, the memory must be fading... We already have Team Depends vs Team Pampers!
  19. Tatsu is the best line I have ever fished, but it's just too expensive for everyday use.
  20. Bassn Blvd was the first BR member to review the NRX. He said the difference between the NRX and a GLX is like contrasting the GLX to a 2X4. Hmm...
  21. Dobyns Champion 683C/ Shimano CH50MG 8-)
