  1. Always bring the lure downstream, over or near structure. The two I recommend are the Bandit 200 and Wiggle Wart. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_31580_100005001_100000000_100005000_100-5-1 http://www.stormlures.com/products/luresdetail.cfm?modelName=wiggle_wart&freshorsalt=Fresh&type=hard_lures
  2. Welcome aboard! 8-)

  4. That's a beauty! ;D ;D ;D
  5. No doubt other reels would work just fine, but the Core 51 will be your favorite reel. You will not be disappointed. 8-)
  6. I have the MBR842C matched up with a Core 50. This is really a great combination. I suspect the Pixy would be a great fit, too! 8-)
  7. Not "fake", the term is "artificial", artificial lures. To get up to speed quickly, spend some time in the BassResource.com Library, "Fishing Articles" and "Tackle" at the top of the page. Then, "Best Of" Bass Resource": https://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?virboard=gen_bass;num=1253486034 Welcome aboard! 8-)
  8. Congratulations! ;D ;D ;D
  9. Seems silly to me. Pre-school is just...well... pre-school. On the broader question, public school is my preference. You will have to evaluate your particular district, but the public schools in my town, Germantown, TN, are outstanding. This is because the parents are VERY involved. 8-)
  10. Dedicated jerkbait rod: Avid AVC66MF Also great for topwater, buzzbaits and spinnerbaits. Dedicated shallow, lipless crank: Avid AVC70MM Dedicated deep divers: Lamiglas SR705R
  11. Fish it and see what you think...You may be pleasantly surprised! 8-)

  13. Suggestion: "Moving" lures. We caught 11 on LC Pointers and Bandit 200's. The bite was hot early, then the sun came out around 10:30 and we never got another strike! Nothing worked slow or on the bottom. 8-)
  14. This might help: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1158577137 8-)
  15. White needs to be one of them. 8-)
  16. For all treble hooks you should us either Moderate Action or Fast Action with a soft tip. I prefer Medium Power for topwater. My main rod is an Avid AVC66MF. This is a versatile rod for everything except jigs and soft plastics fished on the bottom. 8-)
  17. One of your colors should be white. That was all they wanted at Pickwick Saturday. 8-)
  18. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  19. This thread got ugly fast... The original poster was alerting everyone about the announcement of a new Loomis series. All "off topic" posts and those referencing the posts have been removed. Please stay on topic. -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior Global Moderator
  20. We already have this topic running. We don't need two. -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior Global Moderator
  21. Not me...it's still all about catching big fish. Right now it's both largemouth and smallmouth. In a few weeks we will add striper to the equation. I fish some beautiful water occasionally (Bull Shoals and the White River), but mostly I'm a river rat! The Tennessee River and reservoirs in the system are commercial waterways. That doesn't bother me in the least, I'm there to catch big fish. 8-)
