  1. Definitely! That's some exciting news. A new domestic line going head-to-head with Megabass? Too cool... I hope G.Loomis continues to offer new and innovative rods under their new ownership. Shimano + Loomis = match made in heaven. ;D ;D ;D
  2. A bug in general, especially when falling or swimming. With most trailers, a craw partially hidden in cover (jig skirt) and standing with claws up in a defensive mode. I fish jigs on the bottom, VERY slowly. Although I prefer BIG presentations, I still attempt to "hide" the jig next to rocks and limbs. BTW, When I fish black and blue, for me that's a solid black jig with a solid blue or black & blue trailer. 8-)
  3. I had some luck finesse fishing last weekend: GMAN 3/4 oz Mop jig/ Rage Tail Lobster. The presentation is about the size of a softball in the water. 8-)
  4. BR automatic screening...Rhymes with "witch". :
  5. With so many other "moving" bait options, why swim a jig? Also: where, when and how? 8-)
  6. Does the Census ask for anymore information than the IRS? What's the big deal? If "they" were really out to get ya, 99.9% of your information is already in "their" hands. :
  7. avid, I remember when you were looking for an 8. That's been awhile and you have probably exceeded that goal. So, what did you catch your PB on and how big was she? -Kent
  8. Specific suggestions: Treble hooks: Avid AVC66MF This rod has a soft tip,is easily maneuvered for working topwater and jerkbaits, well made and as sensitive as you need for "moving" lures. Single hooks: IMX MBR844C Be patient and you should be able to find this rod for $175-$200. This is a great rod! 8-)
  9. Selecting the appropriate gear is all about where you fish and what you throw. In open water, light tackle is fine. On the Tennessee River we fish for World Class smallmouth with spinning tackle for the most part. However, this gear would be totally worthless cranking a DD22 through rough structure or cover. If we are just talking about bass, the fish itself has very little to do with the tackle you choose. 8-)
  10. For all treble hooks you should us either Moderate Action or Fast Action with a soft tip. I prefer Medium Power for topwater. My main rod is an Avid AVC66MF. Another is a GLX PR844C. 8-)
  11. There is an Avid for sale in our Flea Market for $105 delivered: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1268924616/11#11 8-)

  16. There seems to be a discrepancy between unsubstantiated theory and real life experience. I think I'll go with Randall's observations as a professional fisherman. 8-)
  17. Maybe this will help: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1158577137 8-)
  18. I have fished Gamma and liked it, too! Your closest alternatives are Inviz for spinning tackle and AbrazX for baitcasting gear. I'm sure you would like Sunline Defier, too. If price is important, P-Line CX or CXX and Yo-Zuri Hybrid or Hybrid Ultra Soft are some other suggestions. 8-)
  19. Great deal on an Avid in our Flea Market: $105 AVC70MHF shipped! http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1268924616/0#0 ;D ;D ;D
