  1. fourbizz, Since you're not kidding, you don't need anyone to back up your word. I thought we were just playing. I have seen some of your fish, I don't doubt you now at all. I hope you spend some time this spring focused on the smalljaw. YOU are the guy that just might catch the California State Record, and who knows, maybe the next World Record! 8-)
  2. Be alert for this guy, too! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bigfoot There's a better chance of catching him than a World Record Smallmouth in California. 8-)

  4. I hope you plan on taking that new ride to Pickwick next May. I'd like to fish with you one of days we're there. 8-)
  5. Japan has produced a lot of big bass: http://www.bigfishtackle.com/fishing_articles/Freshwater_Fishing_Articles/Bass_Small_Largemouth_/New_World_Record_Largemouth_Black_Bass__722.html Also: Congrats to the angler on a fine catch. Lake Biwa shocked the bass world a couple years ago by producing a bass that was well over 18 pounds (The Japan record was caught at Lake Ikehara, and weighted over 19 pounds.). A 25 lb. bass was caught in a fisherman's net earlier this year, so many thought it would be just a matter of time before a record size fish was taken from Japan's largest (over 70 miles long) natural lake.

  9. For big baits or anything too cumbersome for the Palomar Knot, I recommend the Sixteen-Twenty (also know as the Pitzen and Duncan Knot). http://206.210.94.83/collaterals/pdf/fhf_knot_sixteen_twenty.pdf 8-)

  14. A thermos keeps hot drinks hot and cold drinks cold. How do it know?
  15. Agreed! I started out that way then swapped the STX to a MBR844C just for cosmetics. I like the green on green (BCR & Curado). To take it one step further, I spooled the Curado up with PP which really looks cool! 8-)
  16. I have mine saddled up with the Curado 200E7. This is a match made in heaven. Plus, the colors are complimentary! 8-)
  17. The line is NOT expensive. http://www.fish307.com/yo-zurihybridline.aspx Here are the details: http://015d0c6.netsolhost.com/Products/ProdLine/Hybrid.htm The chart at the bottom lists specs: http://015d0c6.netsolhost.com/Products/ProdLine/HybridLineChart.htm Note: Hybrid is a bonded, not coated, nylon/ fluorocarbon copolymer. #6 has a diameter of .010" and breaking strength of 11.9 lbs. #12 is .013" diameter, 19.5 lb breaking strength. The line floats as a result of surface tension, but is not buoyant. This has no effect on topwater or subsurface baits or lures. 8-)
  18. A gift card is the best choice, but to address your question: Buy two spools of line: Yo-Zuri Hybrid #6 & #12. #6 is for spinning tackle, #12 for baitcasting. He can exchange the "wrong" spool and have two spools of the "right" line. Yo-Zuri Hybrid is inexpensive and available at most major retailers. I suspect your husband will be surprised that you chose an "exotic" line, something much more interesting than common Trilene. 8-)
  19. http://www.yakimabait.com/online-catalog Looks a lot like a Lazy Ike: http://www.lazyike.com/ I haven't fished the Lazy Ike in decades, but when I was a kid, we trolled the lures. I caught my first walleye at Table Rock Lake in the early 60's on a Lazy Ike. 8-)

  22. Yea, I know it was just one game, but that last drive was something else. For Cardinal fans it's very disappointing to lose a game when you just need to "hold on" for one play and have three opportunities! For Titan fans...well...what can I say? 8-)
  23. #12 Yo-Zuri Hybrid 8-)
