  1. Welcome aboard! We have lots of members, including me, that fish ponds and streams from shore. I think you will feel right at home here at BassResource.com. 8-)
  2. Fenwick Techna AV AVC70MHF This series is being replaced and is on sale. Cabela's has them for $130: http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0030060119381a&type=product&cmCat=SEARCH_all&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&Ntk=Products&QueryText=fenwick+techna+av&sort=all&Go.y=7&_D%3AhasJS=+&N=0&Nty=1&hasJS=true&_DARGS=%2Fcabelas%2Fen%2Fcommon%2Fsearch%2Fsearch-box.jsp.form23&Go.x=16&_dyncharset=ISO-8859-1 This rod will match up perfectly with the Citica. 8-)
  3. I don't have an opinion comparing the two and I'm not sure whether the VMC Barbarian Hook is the same treble hook, but VMC is what comes standard on both Lucky Craft lures and Rapala X-Raps. Those are sticky sharp and I have never broken or even bent one. 8-)
  4. Calm down. The guy is asking for suggestions. I heard you hurt your wrist. Don't you guys have Gentlemen's Clubs in Oklahoma? BTW, Real football tomorrow night! NE vs MO :
  5. I started fishing the Cavitrons and got rid of all my other brands. http://www.cavitronlures.com/cavitron_buzzbait_order.htm
  6. The "plan" isn't working out too good. Last Saturday my partner had twelve in the boat, a couple 4+, and I had not had a bite until I switched to minnows. Five minutes into the drift I caught the big fish of the day. We ended up with 40+, several 4s, 5s and a 6+...all on minnows. Live bait 40 Artificials -0- I'm changing up the mix a little, but still plan to spend two hours at least working lures. It's REALLY hard to do with the guys I fish with. :
  7. I don't take him because I fish with some big guys and I don't want Malcolm squished! I do however, take him on errands and trips. Traveling is great and he doesn't care a thing about being left in the car. The standard weight goal is 26-28 lbs for a male according to our vet. Malcolm gets 1/2 cup of food twice a day and no scraps. On Sunday we give him one egg instead of dog food in the morning. He weighs 27 3/4 lbs. Without any real training on our part, Malcolm never leaves his yard or gets in the street. An exception might be fading slightly to either side in the neighbors yard to play with their dogs. He always comes when called, but "stay" is not something that works very long. As a herding dog, he counts his flock. When I am gone for an evening, he doesn't go to bed. He sleeps on the balcony waiting on me to come home. Lastly, he understands English that is important to him. We have to spell w-a-l-k if we don't take him with us! As long as he gets to go, bye-bye is his favorite phrase. p.s. We have two cats. The only issue is keeping the cat food off the floor, on the cabinets. Cat food is a treat the dog cannot pass up! 8-)
  8. Our dog is also a herding breed, but VERY low maintenance. This is by far the best dog we have every owned. The Queen's dog: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=firefox-a&channel=s&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&hs=LJG&ei=4NLMSpCdCZSaMa26uTo&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&ct=result&cd=1&q=corgi&spell=1 Ours is named Malcolm. 8-)
  9. Green and varieties of green are my favorite lure colors. "Baby Bass" can be several combinations, shades and blends. The Lucky Craft Pointer in Baby Bass is what I use for comparison, but it doesn't even resemble a bass! 8-)
  10. I was in the "Color Doesn't Matter Club" until last spring. At the BassResource.com Roadtrip, Big O was leading a group discussion. His comments changed my thinking: (paraphrased) "When you are on a good bite with any number of colors, the fishing might still be better with the right color". The pros it seems, are VERY particular about color and work with their sponsors constantly searching for The One. Big O makes special colors for his pros that may never be offered to the public. Then again, maybe they will! 8-)
  11. 3/8 oz MegaStrike Shake2 jig head. Rage Tail Lobster, GYCB 6 1/2" Kut Tail Kahuna, Flappin' Hog, Roboworm 6" Shakin' Zipper Worms. http://www.megastrikefishingproducts.com/shop/cart.php?target=category&category_id=107 I fish them slow, on the bottom with an occasional shake or short pull. I do not swim or hop a Shake2, I fish it like I fish any other jig presentation. The Shake2 has a stand-up hook that keeps the bait above bottom clutter. Hook-sets are good, hang-ups are few. This is a high quality jig head. 8-)
  12. I'm guessing the dramatic change is water temperature over a relatively short period has spooked the fish. Things will be back to normal any day now. 8-)
  13. ALWAYS look for structure surrounded by deep water. If there is some vegetation or other cover associated with the structure, so much the better. An obvious starting point on unknown water is a point. 8-)
  14. Welcome aboard! Do you have largemouth and smallmouth bass? 8-)
  15. Welcome aboard! Maybe you bought the wrong St. Croix series. The Avid AVC68MXF will change your mind. 8-)

  18. [i'm sure they read your email(s) just haven't had time to reply.] I'm not holding my breath, it's been at least ten years since these scams started popping up.
  19. Avid AVC70MM/ Shimano Chronarch 8-)

  21. Used to troll for striper. 8-)
  22. Well, most baitcasters will be just fine, but for pure power, my choice is the CTE200GT. 8-)

Until Brett tore his bicep (?), the Jets were on fire last year. There aren't ten quarterbacks worth a poop in the entire league. Brett's one of them. That said, I'm tired of all the drama, too. However, the man loves the game and it shows! Leadership is the key, but it appears to me that Farve also has risen to the occasion when we're talking on field performance. 8-)
  24. No. I only opened one after being warned by a friend NOT to ever open suspicious e-mails. The one I recall was for an odd number, like $3,830,00 or something. They needed $4-$5000 for "processing". I was told to send a certified check, SS# and bank account with wiring instructions. I forwared the e-mail to the FBI, but they never responded. >
