  1. I've been using the trilene knot with fluorocarbon for over two years now and it works well for me. Spit on your knots before you tighten it down and pull on your lure to check the knot before fishing.
  2. I prefer to fish in the evening. I'm not a morning person.
  3. OK. I misunderstood you. I mounted my 7 inch Garmin on the front right side of my deck. I can lay my rods down on the side and still have at least a foot of clearance between them and the unit.
  4. I put rod straps on the edge on both sides of mine. Right above where the cup holders are.
  5. I've caught dozens of pickerel and never had one bite my line and I only use 12 lb fluorocarbon.
  6. Prayers sent
  7. I also use SPRO square bills. Pricey but well worth it.
  8. I wouldn't know how to act if I didn't lose a lure when I went fishing.
  9. OK thanks. I'll check all the connections.
  10. I'll check that out. I've been running this setup since September and it's never done it before. I went fishing for a little bit this evening and my Bigfoot switch died. Maybe that had something to do with it since they're connected to the same battery?
  11. Thanks for the suggestions. The voltage never dropped below 12v though according to the display on the unit. All I have going to the battery is the Garmin and a 12v trolling motor on my Pond Prowler. The battery is over 3 years old now. I'll check the voltage with a meter if it does it again.
  12. Yesterday while fishing I noticed my striker 7dv had turned off twice. Nothing was loose and it came back on when I hit the power button. Anyone have an idea what might be causing this? I plan on calling Garmin tomorrow.
  13. It happens. I lost 2 big fish this morning. Had them both close to the boat and could see them. Big bass.
  14. I use 12 lb Mccoy Xtra clear for cranks. Casts great and pretty strong.
  15. The $50 will make a big difference if you get a regular Tatula instead of the XT. It’s a lot better rod. Probably a lot less than $50 difference in you shop around online and Amazon.
  16. Reels - Daiwa and Shimano rods - Daiwa,Dobyns,G Loomis,St Croix
  17. No leaders. Just another knot to worry about tying and possibly failing.
  18. They were fishing on public property, even if they were close to the dock. Totally legal.
  19. 300 for reel and 300 for rod is my limit but I have less expensive gear as well, I can't afford all of my combos to be that expensive.
  20. Bps rod selection is a joke. They do have nice clothes though.
  21. Caught this bass today on a Cavitron buzzbait. As soon as it hit the water and before I could start the retrieve she was on. I don’t know what it weighs, my scale wouldn’t power on.
  22. I don’t use trailer hooks. I’ve never really seen the need for them.
  23. I have both rods and I like the mojo bass a lot better than the e6x. The e6x is my least favorite rod that I own.
