  1. Ohhhhhhhhh I finally got it! I’ve been working on it for a while.
  2. Nice looking baits you got there. Good job. I don’t have the patience to paint my own but maybe I’ll try sometime.
  3. Dang that is one good looking combo. So jealous.
  4. i rarely buy a new reel unless it is on sale. I search craigslist and once i find a good deal i will lowball them and sometimes they will take it but the worst they can say is no. I've gotten $300 combos for $75 in almost new condition but you have to search.
  5. I was going to get the speed demon but the weight is what turned me away. It is like 8.3 oz so if your ok with that then great but to me i don't like using heavy rods and reels. It's just my preference but that is the reason i didn't get it. The super fast gear ratio was still really tempting but i don't see myself flipping and pitching with that heavy of a reel and that is what i wanted it for. I know they both have amazing reviews on amazon though. Good Luck!
  6. I second this. It's great that you don't have to break out a $50 like other one that are similar.
  7. If I’m going for big bass I go big plastics and fish the heavy nasty cover and don’t worry about snags. That is just personal preference. Good luck this year.
  8. Found one in a tree and only tried it out once but caught one decent one on it then switched to a craw. I’ll have to get it out again and use it some more. But I was fishing in pretty bad conditions and so I’d say if I can catch one in bad conditions then it’s got to be decent.
  9. Never been but hope you see them catch some lunkers (post some pictures afterwards too)
  10. My thoughts exactly for number two I would go m,mh at the most, bass pro carbonlite rod. imo it is an amazing rod
  11. I would have to say st. Croix is an all around good rod company but I have actually been really impressed with bass pros rods they have a pretty good value if you ask me the carbonlite and the Jonny Morris signature are both amazing rods imo.
  12. 99% Nebraska also but i was lucky enough to go to Fl, and MO also
  13. Hey looking for wax worms and was wondering if scheels carried them. I am guessing they do but i don't want to make a trip over there and them not have any. Thanks.
  14. Went out today with a friend and caught three bass over three pounds and many more small ones and tons of panfish so it was a good day. Caught them all on a little tungsten jig and a wax worm.
  15. I definitely know what you mean when you say better than sitting around. I also have no electronics just a hole and a rod
  16. I’ve heard it also depends on how bad the winters are. In Florida the winters are really mild(except for this year) but in Nebraska where I live they don’t get as big because it gets cold and so they aren’t growing year round. That’s just what I heard I don’t know if that’s true so if it’s not someone please correct me
  17. I would say go lews tournament pro g I have it and throw jigs but also t-rigs and it is amazing. I honestly can’t tell you the last time I got a backlash on it and I use it like 5-6 days a week (when there’s no ice) and just absolutely love it. I have the settings way low and still have no issues with 12 pound fluorocarbon. It’s lightweight and small but has good line capacity and it’s cheaper than the steez. That’s what I have to say but I’ve always liked lews over any of the jdm reels but that’s just my personal preference. Good luck
  18. So theres now ice on a good portion of the country. Some people go into “fishing hibernation” for the winter months, but for those of you who tough to out and go ice fishing tell us about it. Let’s see some pics and how did it go? What did you use and what did you catch? I’ve been out three ones and fought some bass, crappie, and some bluegill. A little tungsten jig in a pink color is what’s been working for me.
  19. thanks everybody who has answered so far, keep em comin
  20. Hey I really like Lews reels and was wondering who likes the bb1 for squarbills
