  1. Happens with iPhones every time a new one comes out. I don’t think when the 4 was popular anyone even thought about having one with a fingerprint... now people can’t live without it.
  2. There’s an idea, have one that will automaticlly raise when you get into shallow areas based off of a depth finder.
  3. If you have that many rods and reels than you probably have way more tackle than you would need in 5 lifetimes.
  4. Can’t tell you what the wait is but just say 5lbs. when you tell the story say you forgot the scale but you caught a 5lb bass. That’s why people have such big personal bests. But seriously nice catch!
  5. Nice almost catch. I’m planning on trying to use crankbaits more this year too because I usually just use plastics.
  6. Those look REALLY Good! Nice job!
  7. I want one really bad now, the add keeps coming up on top of my screen making it hard to ignore the bait monkey.
  8. I have used zip ties and the little clip thing that slides onto other mounts and you would be surprised all the places you can put gopros using zip ties, just make sure it’s on there really good. It would stink to be going full speed and it fly off into the water but if you really enforce it I have found it works great. I’ve never tried it on the boat but I also mountain bike and have done it on my bike. Good luck! (it’s not my fault if it flies into the water)
  9. Thanks for all the replies looks like I will hold on to it
  10. I have a St. Croix trout series that is a 6' UL. In previous years I have gone for multispecies and so I had that rod for larger panfish but this year I have resorted to all bass fishing because that is what I enjoy most. I was wondering if there was anything a 6' UL is good for as far as bass fishing goes. I fish mostly for largemouth because that's the only bass that is in the ponds/lakes around me. I live in NE so it's not very likely I'm going to catch a a double digit bass on it, rarely a fish over 4lbs. Thanks!
  11. A friend of mine has a Micro Lite but I've noticed it's a pretty heavy rod(weight not power). Now i'm used to my st. Croix UL which is crazy light but his just feels really heavy. Just something to keep in mind. Good Luck!
  12. Yeah, it's really just personal preference as far as rod lengths go. Normally when fishing frogs, jigs, and plastics you want the faster action for hooksets and to get them out of cover. Just to keep that in mind when picking out rods. Oh and by the way welcome to BR!
  13. Yeah! In lincoln it was almost 60 and windy so it is melting!
  14. I'm not saying i really have a problem and i still do it with one O-ring but that's what I've heard. Whether or not it's true, I don't know.
  15. When you put on one o-ring the hook is lined up with the direction of the senko. When you get a bite like that the bait will get in the way of the hook causing the bait to not get caught in the fish. When the hooks are like an "x" the hook can go in facing the opposite way of the bait which makes hookups better.
  16. For rods i would say a M or MH fast for soft plastics if you plan on throwing a lot of them. 6'6" to 7' is what i would recommend. This setup will allow you to fish a lot of stuff from pretty much any soft plastic to frogs and jigs(especially with a MH but depending on the manufacturer you can often throw a frog on a M if you wanted). And i would try to find the rod you are interested in at a store so you can pair it with your reel and make sure it ballences right and is comfortable. Good Luck!
  17. They have them at scheels just not the HG and I've been eyeing them for quite some time now looks like it would make a nice reel for an extra weightless plastics combo. I can't find any either that are the HG. I wonder what the difference is between the HG and normal. If it is something special or rare after all nice find. The normal one looks and feels like a nice reel for $50 though so i might pick one up. Good Luck!
  18. The rod is plenty light. I am super picky about light rods and reels and this one is great. That's the only reason i won't get the JM Sig Series reel because I'm pretty sure it's like 7.5 or something and my heaviest reel is 6.7. But as far as the rod goes I love it it feels like a feather. You won't think it's heavy especially after using an ugly stick.
  19. This may sound dumb but what do you mean you can upgrade dobyns? Do they have an exchange thing or do you just mean sell your lower model and buy a nicer one?
  20. i'll be honest i don't think you can go wrong with any of the rods listed. I have never tried a fury but have heard good things and i absolutely love my bps rods so i think if i were you i would choose the handel that feels better to you and price which one you can get cheaper. Considering if you buy a carbonlite now you get the reel for free than that might not be a bad option. I love both of my bps rods and if someone asks which one i like more i'm gonna have a really hard time telling them so if it were me i would get the carbonlite and you get a reel with it too. 120 for the combo is a steal imo. Good Luck!
  21. I'm with you i love the power hump. I Have a medium heavy fast carbonlite and it's got a really nice light tip. I also have the medium xf JM and I feel like the tip is actually a little bit stiffer but i can't really tell you how similar the tips are because they are both different powers and actions. Both rods are great for a plastics rod IMO. Good Luck!
  22. i Have a jm sig series for plastics and absolutely love it. The other one i really like is their carbonlite because of the winn grips. If you like winn grips than that might be a good choice. The only thing i've found to be better about the JM sig series is it supposedly has better graphite but i don't really notice a difference in sensitivity (they are both great). I know you won't be disappointed with either of these rods but i've never fished a fury.
  23. I have no answer to your question but I've been interested in making my own rods too. You mind if i ask how much the start up cost was for you? Not the materials for the rod but all the tools you need to make it.
  24. Let me add in that you are already giving them a lot of stuff and so don't think it's not enough and that you need to add in more stuff. All these ideas are great but what you already have picked out is already more than enough.
  25. I'd be your best friend too for all that tackle I don't see any yamamoto senkos that is the only thing i think you could add. That was one of the first soft plastics i used because it is so simple and it catches fish. Now i mostly fish soft plastics.
