  1. Do you know they were bass because bluegill will usually be the first to hit a nightcrawler and bluegill generally can’t choke your lure/bait as well as a bass can
  2. You have to be kidding me spiderwire and stren... those are the only two lines I use. I guess I'll just have to stop fishing.??
  3. Tie on a small tube with a small weight and just hit the bass in the nose with it and eventually it will take it. Be ready because they will spit it out a split second later.
  4. I mean it seems worth 48 bucks to me to fish in california... Nebraska has only had a handful of double digit bass caught with the state record under 11 pounds and a license is over 30 bucks. Still my word is more important to me than a few dollars.
  5. Thank you! Those are my thoughts exactly!?
  6. Pro tip... dont go noodling??
  7. I know, I go like 15 seconds when I try to dead stick and then I tell myself that if I haven't caught one already I probably won't and I'm just wasting my time.
  8. x2 I mainly use a baitcaster for the Pad Crasher JR Unless it is windy and I am trying to cast into the wind, then I will use a spinning. And I do the same thing with a MH spinning with 20# braid. Some could argue that isn't heavy enough braid but I live in Nebraska so I'm willing to take the chance of losing that 10 pounder that is probably not even in the pond.?
  9. You know why... Lews > Daiwa? I was one that didn't jump on the whole daiwa thing... I don't see anything special about them or anything they are better than Lews at; people can argue that they are a better value if I had a $100 I would go for the speed spool lfs over a tatula any day because lews are lighter and I feel like they fish so much better. That's just my opinion and many can disagree and that's totally fine with me.? +1 vote for the Mach Crush
  10. Nice the walmarts around me are awful I was just in a couple days ago and the didn't even have ugly sticks... I thought all walmarts had them.
  11. Where are you finding ugly sticks for $15?!?
  12. Come on guys he caught a nice fish. Was it 5 pounds maybe maybe not but that doesn't mean it wasn't a great fish that was fun to catch. Anybody ever realize how small a five pounder is in comparison to yourself. Just because you don't long arm it doesn't mean it was any smaller. Congrats and don't listen to these people give you a hard time about it.
  13. I would recommend a MH fast with a really soft tip. To me that is what makes the biggest difference is having that soft tip to launch them out there. The other thing that took me a long time to realize was that frogs are effected by wind quite a pit on the cast. So try not to cast super high into the wind and stuff and that should help out. For weightless worms I will use spinning unless I am fishing them t-riged over vegetation. Then I use the same setup as for frogs and I will drag them over the top and drop them into holes in the vegetation. Good Luck!
  14. You could be using the wrong knot because you should use the polymer knot with braid so it doesn't slip as easily... Nice fish though!
  15. First, the booyah pad crasher is the way to go way better hookup ratio. Your gear will work perfectly so don’t let people tell you that you need a heavy I have always used a mh and have never had a problem. Just expirament for retrives and and you’ll get it.
  16. Ouch... that hurts to hear I realize your a kid but if you could mow a few lawns or do some chores or something I would highly recommend saving a little more and getting a shimano. You have no idea how hard that was to say because I am a HUGE lews baitcaster fan and I might be wrong but I feel that shimano will hold up better to saltwater. Not to give you a hard time but just because you can use a spincast doesn't mean a baitcast will be easy to learn. A baitcaster is unique considering with a spincast you can go out all day without touching the line, never seen someone do that with a baitcaster. With all that said if you are using it for mainly bass go baitcaster. If you are going for mainly cats and saltwater fish no doubt spinning at that point... unless you want a round baitcaster but that isn't necessarily the best option for all lures. And if you are doing a pretty large mixture of everything I would have to say a 2500 size spinning reel. Good Luck and remember it's not about the gear it's about the fish you catch!
  17. Congrats! You had the 100th reply on this thread! Who thought it would ever get this far?
  18. Except for a hook?
  19. I also like big game mono. Cheap and has worked flawlessly for me.
  20. Ok nice, she's a fatty! Congrats!
  21. Am I missing something or is there no fish in that picture? Anyways congrats on a new pb!
  22. What about the big bundles of tangled line on the ground that trip you up... it’s like seriously people
  23. What do you guys think of cottenmouths because when I go to Missouri to a lake house the owner of the lake says if I see one kill it. I am pretty sure they are pretty dangerous if you get bit so would it be different do you think?
