  1. I will also say go used... look on the flee market forum, you can find some good deals.
  2. You really can get away with 2 colors: black/blue (murky water) Some kind of green/natural (finesse, clear, or cold water) This should be able to cover your bases like 80% of the time.
  3. I’ll add another vote for the lucky craft RC 1.5, I don’t know what it is but the bass go crazy for it around here!
  4. I don’t care too much if it is raining, that said afterwards I am sure to dry them pretty well and leave them near a window or something but I’m not too worried about rain.
  5. I think I got it now, thanks!
  6. This might be a dumb question but, is all this a good thing or bad thing? I’m just lost now
  7. C’mon guys where’s all the jig people, I’m disappointed?
  8. While you can throw a frog in open water, there doesn’t seem like too much of a reason too... I would use something that has better hookups instead.
  9. I know! every time I catch a dink and the bait flies off I ask myself if that fish was worth the price and end up mad at myself for wasting a bait of that price on a fish that small.
  10. Careful, your gonna get in trouble with all the Zman fans on here
  11. I second this, if you have the patience to learn the ned rig it is a great way of fishing.
  12. Woah that combo is sick! I’m jealous! (Nice fish to btw)
  13. Exactly! There are times when I prefer to fish my m/xf with 12lb over any of the combos I have with braid. People will say that’s not enough but I’ve never really had problems with it, if your getting a solid hookset from not too far away I think the whole “no stretch” thing is slightly overrated. Don’t get me wrong though, my designated jig rod has braid
  14. “Use what he uses” That’s what I said and now I have over 1,000 squarebills
  15. If you are going to have one baitcaster for now (you’ll probably end up with more) then I would go with 1/4 to 1oz and then put on 12lb big game because it is cheap and you might loose some line from backlashes at first. Then throw everything you said with that and for your next rod get a heavier action and 50lb braid that is more ideal for frogs and jigs... just my .02 tho
  16. Honestly a rod might be able to throw a variety of lures but they won’t be the ideal power and action.... if anything fish like 12-15lb mono or floro and not really fish frogs on it or do like 30lb braid because you want the slightly larger diameter but then not fish as many treble hooked baits.
  17. I think color catches the fishermen more than the fish... then again I have about every color of every bait.
  18. Don’t jinx it man... if it’s not shimano it will be daiwa
  19. Went out fishing this morning and started with a red eye shad and exclusively fished it for the couple hours I was out. I ended up catching a bunch including a few that were 3+ lbs. However the person I was with, seeing I was nailing them on the lipless crank, was shuffling through all his lipless cranks of other brands and only managed to catch one fish. Sure there are other factors that had to do with this but I am just saying I am pretty happy with the R.E.S.
  20. Wow that is amazing!
  21. I’ll add another vote for the red eye shad
  22. I thought they did have a split ring... I have a few and all mine came with them.
