  1. Thanks for the replies! Do you think something like this would work? If not what would you say would be ideal?
  2. So I am interested in doing a little Jon boat-bass boat build. Nothing special just put some wood and carpet up front. I want to put a nice-ish trolling motor with the foot control up front as the only motor due to me only using it on smaller bodies of water (canals so I would just be trolling down them casting the banks). Anyways, I am so lost on what to do as far as setting it up. I want to know how much I am looking at for the trolling motor setup (not including the trolling motor because the can be found for around $300 used) what all do I need to do this. I read stuff like circuit breakers, battery chargers, etc. and I am really lost. BTW I am planning on getting one in the 45-55lb thrust 12v range if that matters. I was doing research and it looked like people were just getting minn Kota battery boxes and directly hooking their trolling motors to it. Could I do this? If I were to do this how would I charge the battery? Thanks in advance! Oh and I don't know if this is the right topic, sorry if it isn't...
  3. I'm really surprised more people haven't said lews. I love lews because of their palm-ability
  4. I would definitely consider used if I were you
  5. https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/bass-pro-shops-extreme-qualifier-360-backpack-or-system here’s what I use. I have no complaints with it, it is only $30 and I am a big fan of the backpacks when you have things like rods in your hands.
  6. I would recomend starting with nicer combos. I built up a collection of not as nice stuff and had a ton of combos. Well I then realized it was better to just have a few that were nicer. Now I only own 5 combos for bass but they are all nicer combos. By the way when I say nicer I am a high schooler and can’t afford much so they are in around the $300 price range (I didn’t pay that much)
  7. Just wondering, most of my rods are bass pro brand... does anybody know if the new grips will fit with the "Powerhump Grip" or whatever they call it?
  8. It definitely has some memory. I would be very skeptical about using it for spinning, however, I don't even notice it when using bait casting. Pull the trigger on some big game, if your looking for great value you won't regret it.
  9. That duo realis pencil is hands down my favorite walking bait. It is so effortless to walk. Nice order by the way!
  10. Yep! First thing I plan to buy when I get there is a little Jon boat! I am in high school so I will probably get an older Jon boat off craigslist and put a deck up front with a somewhat nicer/newer foot controlled trolling motor. I like the idea of only a trolling motor because if I am correct it is no wake and I being in high school don't have a lot of money for maintenance on an outboard. Do you think that will be enough?
  11. Whatever the reason is, it is one of the "least bad" addictions out there.
  12. What do you guys use to see if there is bass somewhere. Im referring to times besides winter mainly. You hear "Use a search bait to find the fish" but sometimes search baits just don't work. I could fish a crank bait all day and not catch anything but switch to a t-rig and catch tons. What do you guys like best just for being dependable and allowing you to see if there are bass somewhere? It would take forever to try 10 different lures in each spot to finally find where they are. Am I looking at this wrong?
  13. I think the decision is now between 1 and 2 personally and it really just depends on what you personally want. It is a Medium vs a Medium heavy so you just have to make the decision. I don't think it will do you much good to have number 3 as well as number 4 though. If it were me I would probably choose number 2 but I would have to feel them both side by side first...
  14. I am coming from Nebraska so I was thinking it would be better than where I fish now... I have seen many people fishing it while I was there but I fly down so I never have a rod with me to try it out. We are moving onto a canal that is connected to it and is pretty private so I am thinking there will be less pressure, one of the neighbors said he fishes it and catches some really nice bass and showed me with his hands but you never know if it's just a "fish story"...
  15. I think it would be fun to share your fishing experiences. If you never get over 100 subs, so what? If you get 10k, good for you! It's just something to do for the fun of it. At least those my thoughts. One more thing... USE SOMETHING OTHER BESIDES CHEST MOUNT!!! Set the camera up places and move it often so the angle doesn't get boring. This sounds so minor but at least to me the video gets SOOOO much better. If you can get someone to hold the camera underwater during part of the fight and see if you can get the fish in action (this only works with waterproof cameras obviously). Camera movement is extremely important in my opinion. Also, at first I would say do less videos but better videos, later on when you already have a handful of subscribers you can start doing more "whatever" videos but you really want to have some solid first videos. Another thing to do is, like others have said, have a story. Start at your house or the boat ramp or something and do like a time lapse out to the fishing spot. Don't make it too long otherwise it gets boring but just starting out at the lake, having no intro, can make it seem like you don't know what your doing. Take everything I said with a grain of salt because I don't even have a youtube channel but I plan to start one this summer when I move down to Florida where there will be more places to explore and try out. Although I could start in Nebraska I want to start fresh and strong in Florida. And lastly, have fun! Your out to fish and too many youtubers seem to have forgotten that and now just want to put on a show, those are the people I don't want to watch. Good luck!
  16. My vote would be 4 and either 1 or 2. Number 4 would be great for everything except some treble hooked stuff and that is where you would use 1 or 2.
  17. Anybody fished Cocoplum waterway in North Port/Port Charlotte area? Moving extremely close this summer (right on one of the branching canals) and just wanted to see if any of you guys had any experience with it. I'm super excited because I've heard it's pretty good but just wanted to see if anyone here has had any personal experience with it. Thanks!
  18. I saw this on a craigslist listing for a boat and thought I might share it
  19. That’s a steal! Arizona beaches are absolutely beautiful!
  20. While I know a lot of you don’t love bass pro they have a few cyber Monday deals including a Pfluger Summit xt spinning reel for $35.
  21. Welcome from Lincoln Nebraska! Also congrats on catching a master angler in Nebraska, fishing can be tough here.
  22. This thread is from 2011-2012.... my guess is they are all claimed welcome to the forum though!
