  1. I have tried out the Trion and President but have only felt the RG in stores and must say the RG felt “reely” good for the money. However I have never owned or even fished with one. I can say the president and Trion are both great choices from my experience.
  2. I don’t think think anyone’s mentioned tooth paste, it seems to work for me.
  3. I would be more than willing to try them out, however, I am a high schooler and don’t wanna look like one of the big fans who just buys whatever they say catches fish. So for that reason, unless they become extremely popular among all bass anglers or I get them for free somehow, I probably will never try them out.
  4. For that price they better be 7/8s as good as yammamotos!?
  5. 12.6, 14.9, 11.7, 16.1, 22.3 I feel for you guys, its been a really slow year for me too. My actual numbers lie more in the 6lb range?
  6. I would go with lews... but I’m very biased
  7. I feel like I notice this. Maybe it’s just a mental thing but I just couldn’t do lews and shimano consistently... so the shimano had to go?
  8. I use a cheaper mono for backing instead of electrical tape more because I can use less braid which is more costly than cheap mono.
  9. I'm with @LionHeart, you need to tell us the speeds of the reels. Other than that, really it comes down to what balances and feels the best in your hand.
  10. If it’s says booyah you can’t go wrong
  11. All I know is that when I go to somewhere that has reels on display I will try them and the quantum often have problems such as gear slipping (really bad). You might be thinking this is just because they are the ones on display and people probably screw them up but none of the other brands seem to do it. Is this a coincidence? Maybe. I'm personally not willing to take the chance.
  12. I’ve noticed that too, I love the scatter rap but had to give it up because I was just constantly breaking them.
  13. Hey guys, I have had my eye on the 6th sense speed glide. I love sixth sense colors and the quality of their baits. At $10 for the speed glide it seems really hard to beat if it really is as good as their other lures are. What are everybody's thoughts on them? Why do they not seem as popular and mentioned as I would think they would be for that price? Thanks!
  14. Like this? It was -15 and I realized very quickly it was a dumb idea to go fishing without a shelter and heater... btw sorry for the blurry pic, my hands were too cold to hold the camera steady
  15. I don’t know but I am almost certain BPS reels are made in the same factory as lews just by comparing them. And I wanna say lews and abu Garcia are made in the same factory so it would make sense. None of this is certain, just my thoughts so don’t quote me on it.
  16. Where I live they call it ice fishing... and I enjoy it, but not as much as fishing in the summer. Anyways, I'm always envious of the people who can fish year round (Not ice fishing). I always start off strong ice fishing and then end up missing normal bass fishing after like a week.
  17. Your gonna get a different answer from everybody. I personally love bass pros carbonlites a ton. Many people like dobyns, st. Croix, g. Loomis, and many more. A lot depends on your budget but I personally don't think you can go wrong with a carbonlite.
  18. I don't see what's wrong with that personally
  19. Carbonite 2.0 7' M/H with the 8.3:1 matching reel. On sale right now for 80 each, hard to beat for that price.
  20. I can say I love the carbonlite. No experience with the other one though, I think right now the carbonlites are on sale for 80 which IMO is a great price for that rod.
  21. Like what @WRB was saying, floro, once stretched doesn't "unstretch" or go back to its original as easily/quickly as mono will. For that reason you will have to be more cautious of your line and knot weakening and you will have to retie and even re-spool more often. This is what I've heard, I am not certain it is true though so correct me if I'm wrong. I would recommend any seaguar line but if you for some reason decide to go with mono instead +1 for 12lb big game, Love the value of that stuff.
  22. I am not much help but it seems like people really like them on this forum. I personally have never used the Mach 1 but I absolutely love their other reels (tournament pro). lews is overall very good and definitely my favorite company. But that’s just me.
