  1. I would not be using braid for cranks because then you risk ripping the hooks out of their mouths. You want the stretch to give you a little “forgiveness” and that is why people usually use mono of floro for cranks.
  2. You just have to get so good you can find deals and sell stuff for more than you bought it for... that’s what happens when you live on Craigslist?
  3. Curiosity killed the cat... and made the bait monkey a whole lot stronger
  4. I could narrow it down to 3... 7ft mh/f (all heavier stuff) 7ft m/m (treble hooked baits) 6’9” m/xf (lighter stuff, lighter t-rigs, jerkbaits, etc)
  5. I don’t think so... think toothpick to pencil, the toothpick is going to break first even though it is less stiff. That’s not a great example but I couldn’t think of anything else on the spot.?
  6. I mean I agree with you but I feel like far too often it is a "Fish Story" that keeps going further and further until it is a state record, I think most people know it isn't so they release it and then say "oh I didn't realize I caught a state record..."
  7. In order for that to be 9 pounds that guy has got to be an NBA player. He certainly doesn't seem to be an NBA player though...
  8. Nice Fish! I see you live in Omaha, I used to live right next to Walnut Creek and would fish the flat 75 with a lot of luck in the fall. It was pretty pressured but I remembered being able to get some good bites on one.
  9. I am WAYYYY to scared to take apart one of my reels that much! Holy cow thats a lot of pieces!
  10. Sure sounds like you're talking about Carrot Stix!?
  11. Yeah what @Troy1985s said, Your really lucky you found it. What condition was it in after sitting in the water for that long?
  12. And if you don't have a boat?
  13. I would really try throwing something other than a frog at first. Maybe a weighted T-rig. Frogs can be weird sometimes on a baitcaster when you are just starting.
  14. I have a sedona as well and must say I am extremely impressed. I rarely ever use spinning but felt I needed a couple so I got a Sedona because it was fairly inexpensive and I love it! I personally am so glad I went that route and saved some money for tackle and put it towards other rods/reels.
  15. Hello and welcome, I spent some time in Madrid
  16. For me it is a lot about warranties. I use some Bass Pro Rods even though some have said they give you a hard time if you break a rod I have had semi-good experiences. Brands like St. Croix and G. Loomis are so great because you don't have to worry so much. If carrot stix had great customer service I can almost guarantee you I would have at least one of their rods for non-competitive fishing when it doesn't matter as much if you are short one rod.
  17. @new2BC4bass the Sienna is solid reel, for the price its hard to beat.
  18. I would try and Texas rig a green pumpkin senko weightless and fish that. You want to do like 3 pops with your rod and let it sink for like 5-10 sec and repeat. You should be able to get bites that way. Also, it is getting colder now so you probably will have to start fighting for bites.
  19. I'll be honest I kind of think their rods look pretty cool, but only with the right reel...
  20. You should have told him "Pure fishing doesn't pay my entry fees!"
  21. The booyah one knockers seem to do it well but nothing beats the RYS IMHO
  22. Thats a new one...
  23. I would go with a medium personally, just my .02 though... however I have never tried a lews David Fritts rod so I don't know how the ratings match up.
  24. Thats a toad! Congrats!
