  1. My favorite is easily booyah hands down. They are really soft so you’ll get some good hookups. one tip is when you get a hit make sure you feel the fish on there before you set the hook because sometimes they’ll swat at it and then come back and choke it.
  2. I don’t even know what to say. I think I could be that things appetizer.
  3. I definitely cast better with 50 than 65.
  4. Yeah I fish a good amount of weeds and vegetation and 50 works for me.
  5. I never go above 50 because of casting distance. I use mostly 30 and 50 and I notice a difference between the two. I also live in Nebraska where the chances of catching one over 10lbs is close to impossible so I don’t really have to be very prepared for that. If I had two choose one it would be 50.
  6. When fishing from the bank... is my rod going to hit this overhanging tree? Then I look back and make sure I’m not going to get a “snag-lash” if I hook something while casting.

  8. Yeah, 30lbs is plenty in a kayak I wouldn't pay any more for a more powerful one for a kayak unless your planning on going some crazy distances in it and you need to get around really quick but 30lbs is enough for a smaller lake or a pond.
  9. I really like 12lb and if I'm doing more finesse than I will go down to 10 or 8lb but if I'm going to do finesse I generally use a M or ML spinning rod with 10lb braid and fish a 6-12lb leader.
  10. Welcome to bass resource! Pro Tip-stay away from the "latest sale thread" and the "show off your stuff" thread, other than that you'll be good
  11. It's funny i've heard both, you want a faster one and than I've heard you want a slower one. I don't really fish deep diving crankbaits but I'm sure youd be fine considering its right in the middle. Good Luck!
  12. If I only used Yamamotos I’d of been broke a long time ago. But than again other plastics are getting up there at like 5-6 bucks each.
  13. This might sound wimpy but I actually keep band aids in mine because if I get a hook in my finger I don’t want to be touching my cork with a bloody finger. But I’m overprotective of my fishing stuff.
  14. That's one of the techniques I want to get good at this year... now for the rod to throw it on...
  15. I would say go for it. Bass are weird and eat things bigger than them sometimes. I dont think a 2 pounder is going to have trouble eating a 10" worm. After all the worst thing that could happen is you don't catch them on it and switch back to 7". Good Luck!
  16. He's either long arming it or has absolutely massive hands. Anyways, I'd love to catch one that big.
  17. I really like the smaller Yo-zuri Jerkbaits. They are pretty inexpensive and have great action and I like throwing them when the water is cold because they are small. Good Luck!
  18. Braid is a lot easier to work with on spinning reels. I would never use anything but braid for a mainline on spinning. It is also better for hook sets. I generally don't fish very heavy action spinning rods because i mainly use spinning for finesse applications so if I'm using a weedless drop shot rig the braid will help make up for not having as heavy of a rod action. The number one reason for me though is because it doesn't have memory. Good Luck!
  19. I've never had a problem but i've heard other people say they have. You can look into it because I know that some places will take back a rod if it breaks during shipping. If you can I would get it in the store just to be safe but if you find a good deal online I've never had a problem with rods breaking and it might be worth the risk anyways. Good Luck!
  20. That is an amazing fish. Congrats!
  21. Flukes, carolina rig, and A rig, are a few of the ones I have either never, or close to it, thrown. Hope to change that with flukes this year though.
  22. Welcome to bass resource! I know if you are willing to pay an extra 10 dollars people really like Berkeley lightning rods.
  23. I love the gator hat. Chomp chomp!
