Rod for Topwater like a bullet pop, chug bug
Definitely not a rod issue. You're basically throwing two identical baits, other than the way they move in the water. So even though an XF rod isn't ideal for it, if you're not having an issue landing them with one, you shouldn't have an issue with the other. I'd look at hooks, first. If they're dull, replace them. If the hooks are sharp, then you were probably having a bad day, or the fish weren't really committed to it, and were just swiping at it. If they were swiping at it, then it could turn into a rod issue. A more moderate rod will help you land a lot more of those barely hooked fish.

Your Ned rig setup(s)...
I'm using an iRod 742. An ancient Pflueger Trion, which desperately needs upgrading, sits underneath it. Bought the rod mainly for dropshots and spybaits, but it does well with Ned's on the heavier side. I'm usually fishing over 18ft deep, so I don't think I even own a 1/16 head.

Ike on the move?!
We have zero service at 90% of our lakes, so our local trail doesn't even use tourney x or anything. We make sure our 5 pictures are in order, and the TD's verify each person's at weigh in.

Am I alone?
I have 14-16 rods or so. I usually take 6-8 out with me on the kayak, but I rotate between them all, depending on what I think I'll need for the day. It's the middle of the summer and most of our fish are deep, so I load up my big football jig rod, dropshot rod, etc and leave my squarebill rod at home.

Long distance topwater recommendation
Vixens, Rovers or a Kicknocker. All will cast long distances fairly easy, and are known fish catchers. 30lb braid with a short leader will help you gain some distance. A slightly longer rod, maybe 7'3 will help, too, but working the baits might be more difficult, unless you're standing on something.

Good fishing kayak under $1300?
Good point. Adding the beavertail rudder is a night and day difference.

Minimalist Fisherman
I'm kinda in the middle. My kayak crate is jammed full, but it's also carrying 90% of the tackle I own. The 10% that doesn't fit is a small stock of my most used soft plastics and terminal gear in my closet, and maybe 2 3600's of duplicate hard baits. I made myself stop buying anything that isn't replacing a lost bait, or won't fit in the crate. I figure that the crate is going on the kayak regardless, full or almost empty doesn't make much difference

Reel Maintenance- Curado DC
Because that doesn't really remove anything but the oil and maybe some of the grease. Just because crud found it's way inside, doesn't mean it's gonna find its own way out.

Good fishing kayak under $1300?
I've seen a few of them in person. The drive and seat look like Hasbro made them.

Alligators and Small Boats
Buddy of mine in high school had one. He used to take it for walks around the neighborhood to freak the neighbors out.

Tournament entitlement?
Sometimes it's not just recreational anglers getting pushed off. There was that tourney that Wheeler tried pushing a kayaker off his spot, who was coincidentally fishing a tournament, as well.

Split shot or triple shot???
I'm using a tripleshot on the kayak, as well. I get readable images all the way down to just under 1 mph. A good tail wind can get me going fast enough. And no, scroll speed is not adjustable for anything but 2D on the hooks. But either way, put SI on the console, and DI on the bow. If you mount SI to your trolling motor, your imaging will get distorted every time you move direction. It's not very useful unless you're going in a straight line.

Good fishing kayak under $1300?
That's a serious downgrade. Those BKC kayaks are just wish.com kayaks with their name slapped on the side.

Lowrance Elite 7 HDI help
Initially? Yeah. But I personally don't think I'd throw a nav card that's worth more than my unit in it.

Lowrance Elite 7 HDI help
You'll need a map card. I'd google what cards it's compatible with before buying anything, it's an older unit and may not work with some of the new stuff.

Amped outdoors lithium 100 Ah trolling motor battery
China basically has a monopoly on lithium, and 99% of lithium battery cells are produced there. If you read their FAQs, they address both your BMS and connection questions.

Heavy Travel Rod for Bigger Bass?
I have an 806. It's kinda moderate fast. I'm not sure about the 807, but I believe it's a faster taper

Lowrance hook 7ts not reading??
You still have grease in the actual port on the unit. Gonna have to clean it out, too. If it's still not seating, keep cleaning. It took me like 2 hours to get it all out.

Striker vs helix 5
Get the biggest screen you can afford. I have a 5", and wish I would've went 7" or 9". The Helix is going to have more feature options than the striker, too

Underspin with skirt?
It looks like the same heads as their other under spins, so I'm guessing it'll swim fine. I have a few. If I remember, I'll bring my split ring pliers and test it.

Garmin Striker Plus 4CV - Help?
You have to remember that unless you're on slick calm water, and not moving around, your kayak is bouncing around a lot more than a boat. Returns are going to be slightly off

Summer morning topwater
I swear I talk about this bait more often,, and with higher esteem than my kids sometimes. I have an Arashi cover pop tied on allllllll summer. I can put it on a flies rear end at 20-25 yards, I can bomb cast it a mile. I can pop it real slow, I can walk it like a spook. They destroy it all morning, and I still get situational bites on it the rest of the day.
