Lakes with a bad rap
I think some lakes have a bad reputation for one of three reasons. Either people aren't fishing them right, they're a good lake and people spread misinformation, or they're truly bad. Can't find out until you put in the time. Not every lake has big fish that only a few people manage to catch. Some are actually better or worse than others and that's just biology.

Wiggle wart style...
Regular Rk crawler dives deeper than a wart so i use both. Havent tried any others like the curve. There is a smaller rk crwler that dives similar but i havent found a need to expand beyond the wart because i like them so much.

Releasing Deep Water Fish
From what ive read the livewell doesnt really help. Theyre coming up from 30', why would 4 inches help them any? Either fizz or get them back down deep. I don't fish over 20' except fall or ice walleyes which are most likely being kept. But if i catch a trophy ill try to have a clip on hand to sink them back down next time i go out. If the air bladder is expanded they wont be able to swim down due to the extra buoyancy and end up just floating back to the surface and rolling over. Their stomach literally comes out their mouth so they can't just catch their breath and swim off.

Feast or Famine. Is it worth it?
In a few years when all those small fish get big with no large fish ahead of them it will be a boom in the cycle and there should be plenty of large fish so be ready for that.

Bass guys outfishing Musky guys for Musky
Sure you can. Just like the bass i catch on musky baits. There are no rules. Big fish eat small baits and small fish eat big baits.

Summer musky tips?
I wouldn't fish them at all if water temps are over 80 which you may see with daytime temps in the 80s this week. Your best bet is probably first light both for best fishing and coolest temps. I'd focus on deep weedlines and any deep mid-lake structure you can find. Fish fast and erratic because fish should be moving fast with high temps.

St. Croix Rod for UL
Since you dont use floats you'll need to feel the strikes so the avid is the better choice if you can swing the cost. But you'll also want the extra length for longer casts. Idk if Id step up to a Light action because you might lose casting distance with those baits. I'm not sure if theres any longer Avid UL models.

TAIL -UP or DOWN ?
On a grub i also put the tail curling opposite of the hook, aka down. This makes sense.

Can I please get help with my spinning setup?
Its a balancing act. Heavier line means less likely to break off, better abrasion resistance but the trade off is less casting distance, less manageability (more line twist).

Can I please get help with my spinning setup?
If you have some issues drop down to 8 lb mono or fluoro and it should be much better. You can use braid too but don't feel like its the only option.

Leader knot into the spool?
If you think you need a 12-15' leader then just go straight fluoro/mono.

Ranger Boats finally came out with the perfect Trolling Motor Foot Pedal Compartment
Electric steer foot pedals are used out on the deck anywhere and are fine without a recess because theyre very thin. This compartment with a cover allows for storage. Or if you switch to a cable drive you could remove the cover and use the recessed tray like normal without having to cut the deck like if you hadn't ordered the tray in the first place. To me this just allows flexibility between the two. Flat deck for electric, tray for cable drive if you want it.

My "Wall of 7 Pounders" Replica Display Arrived Today!
Just getting started on a replica with Joe of my first 20"/5lber. He is not cheap but they look so much better than others I see online. I blame you @Lucky Craft Man. I'll probably catch one bigger someday, but this one was worth it. The cabin needs some wall decorations that are more than just pictures.

6th Sense Curve 55 Questions
My Premier MH/M is actually graphite and Im worried that since I do like it so much I won't like the feel of the M/M if I jump to legend glass. Thats why I'd consider getting the graphite Avid M/M. But with how much praise the legend glass gets I dont think itd be a mistake. To keep things on topic, If i get another cranking rod itd be a M/M which sounds like itd be perfect for the curve 55. Id have to add them to my bag and see how they compare with the wiggle wart which Ive come to love.

Show your ride...
I would hope she runs great, it's a 2020! Looks really nice.

6th Sense Curve 55 Questions
A bit off topic, my next crankbait rod would be one of these two to complement my Premier MH/M which I really like. How do they compare to each other? I haven't used a glass rod but have heard great things about the legend glass.

Daiwa Fuego LT 2500 D-XH Spinning Reel
Just picked one out for my father in law. Based on what I found it seemed solid and comparable to shimano Sahara. Came with washers for adjusting the spool height. Felt nice, obviously I dont have any real performance comments for you but I would get one for myself if I needed a new reel (or maybe upgrade to feugo LT which Ive heard plenty of good things about).

What is wrong with my deep crank setup? What did I do?
He did, which is why Im thinking its gotta be the reel.

What is wrong with my deep crank setup? What did I do?
Is the reel busted and youre cranking but the spool is slipping so its not pulling in line very fast? Watch the spool because if the line is coming in at the right speed then it's something with the baits.

Shimano reel for deep cranking
Maybe not when a 10xd weighs 1.9 oz. But if most baits are under or closer to 1 oz then Tranx 200 wpuld be a great option inless the 6.x gear ratio is too fast.
