Help: Fuji Graphite Exposed Trigger & Palming
I'm in need of some guidance. I just picked up a couple of Kistler Helium rods and they feel absolutely amazing. With that said, I am having one problem. I'm not the biggest guy out there and my hands struggle to palm my Steez CTSV because of the Fuji Graphite Exposed Trigger reel seat. I haven't had this rod for 24 hours and might just benefit from spending some time with it. With that said, do I have any options or work arounds? This is a medium light rod intended for finesse applications so I am putting a lot of value in the ability to palm the reel. Thanks for any input or suggestions.

Thanks For the feedback. Have you had any difficulty with the gears in your Tatula SV TW? That is my only hesitation at this point.

Reel for Helium Chatterbait Set Up
I am looking for a reel to put on a Kistler Helium for Chatterbait. This will primarily be used to fish out of the back of the boat closer to bank. As a result, I’m not worried about bomb casts. I’m more focused on accurate skipping and casting. I have concerns about the gears on the 103 and am afraid the spool is too small on the Alphas CT SV. are there any other glaring options I am forgetting? I thought about saving for the Steez A but am just afraid that I will lose out on skipping in tighter spaces. Is this a non-issue? Forgot to mention... #30 braid. Non-negotiable ?

Rod brand recommendations ($250-$350)
I just picked up 2 Kistler Heliums. They have a promotion running for 35% off if you buy two. Regularly $350 each and I got them for $227.50 each. I’ve gotten a little obsessive with reading up on rods and reels lately and it sounded like the best overall value at that price range. I can give some feedback in a week or so if you are more patient than I am.

Weight of Reaction Innovations Sweet Beaver
I get it but I honestly don’t know so I am going to take things literally until I know better. This just throws me off because this would imply that I can flip a beaver under trees/light brush with a 1/4-5/8 oz rated medium if I have a 3/8 tungsten. That just doesn’t sound right to me. Is that okay to do? I don’t mean over analyze or pester with silly questions. I just honestly want to know how to properly rig.

Rod for Steez
I would put it on the NRX personally.

Recommendations for a casting rod for skipping jigs
Ha I’m well on my way to doing the same. I picked up the Steez CT SV for skipping this year. I’ve been able to skip my Chatterbait with my BPS Carbonlite combo and my Lews Combos but I’m pretty confident the Steez is going to change the game. I’m hoping the new Tatula SV TW will allow me to do the same with jigs. I’m considering pairing the Tatula SV with an Argon from Kistler. I haven’t heard much but the price point is great right now and those blanks are nice from what I hear. Maybe a 6’9” to give me a little more control.

Recommendations for a casting rod for skipping jigs
I've got the roll cast skip down. This pitch skip is a whole new level. My number 1 goal for this year! Can't wait for my Tatula SV TW to get here and to finally have some open water.

Weight of Reaction Innovations Sweet Beaver
I've only recently started learning more about about the "why" of rod set ups and am revisiting what rigs I like to use on what rod. I'm also selling some rods and reels to buy replacements. The hope is that I can get a little more diverse in what I have and can throw appropriately. My initial education was "throw a worm on this, throw a chatterbait on that, etc." but am starting to learn that the weight, hook type, rod action, etc. vary significantly from rod to rod. A medium heavy on one rod could be a heavy on another rod, and so on. I'm trying to decide how I want to handle pads in my local Iowa lakes. They get pretty heavy and I can have trouble finding pockets. At the same time, its not quite punching mats in Florida. I'm trying to figure out how light I can go while still being able to get through the outside edge of a given pad. I've read that other people will pitch up on the pad, pull the bait to the edge and let the weight push that edge down to let the bait fall. Does that make sense? Really, I am wondering how much a beaver style bait with an EWG and 1/2 ounce weight would be in total. Open to suggestions though!

Can someone ballpark me on weight of a Reaction Innovations Sweet Beaver? I don't have a scale that can measure at home. Thanks!

Left vs Right Handed Reels
Would this make sense for a 3/8 Chatterbait set up? I need to do some research! Update: definitely does not look like what I am after. Too bad though. That is a great deal.

LMH For Dummies
I’ve heard really great things about both the product and the customer service. I had just never seen it written that way. Those are perfect examples of what I have seen. I didn’t want to make an assumption about Kistler’s system so I asked. Questioning if this was some hybrid I wasn’t aware of. Good advice, thanks.

LMH For Dummies
Thanks Tom! I hadn’t ever had it explained that way so that does help my overall comprehension but I wasn’t clear enough with my question so stay with me here... Kistler has the following options: 2: M Medium 3: LMH Light-Medium-Heavy 4: MH Medium-Heavy 5: H Heavy So... I get a Medium Light or a Medium Heavy... the idea is that you are in between. But what in the world is a light-medium-heavy? Related: When I see people saying that they have a Dobyns### or whatever the make... does that number just mean the length followed by the rod power in numbers? So a medium 7’2” rod would be referenced as a 722? I feel like I am missing something here.

Could someone explain a light-medium-heavy to me? I don’t get it at all. I’m looking at Kistler for reference.

Graphite Chatterbait Rod
Nice. I’m looking at the 7’3” Ehrler Tatula Elite with the new 20 Tatula SV TW. Trying to get a little more info on the new model to see if it is worth the extra cash first.

Are you casting or spinning? I’m assuming casting since you are going from 50# to 10#... has me a little thrown off.

Rod Taper & Action for 3-4” Finesse Jerk Shad
I’m wanting to experiment with finesse shad/fluke style baits this year and am not sure what the rod would need to look like. I know I am going to get comments about spinning equipment but this will be a casting rod. I realize many will think I should use a spinning set up but please play along. Would a ML fast work for this presentation? Would I want more of a moderate fast? Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

What stands out to you about the Elite? Have you looked into how the Elite compares to the Tatula 2020 SV TW? I’ll put that one on my list to look into. Thanks for the suggestion!
