  1. I think if LSU plays Notre Dame, LSU wins. If Georgia plays Notre Dame, Georgia wins. If Notre Dame had played A&M, they would be trying to pull Johny Manziels foot out of their ass. I am glad that the Irish are close to back, but they were gonna get whupped no matter who of the top three SEC teams that they had played.
  2. Welcome, I am partial to the Tennessee River, but have read a little about Reelfoot.
  3. Did not get to go. I wound up in a doctors office getting a shot and a prescription.
  4. Only 42-14 Bama, too close to call.
  5. My brother and I used to slay 'em on Wilson with Zebco 33's and a yellow Rooster Tail. Good times.
  6. I am going on Pickwick, Tuesday Jan. 8th. Thinking about putting in at Waterloo.
  7. From a not so good fisherman. Always keep a curl tail grub. Bounce it off the bottom, or swim it, they will catch something.
  8. A friend of mine has been catching some decent fish on a shad colored Rattlin' Rap. He was just chunkin' and reelin' the bank. He caught one four plus large mouth below Cane Creek.
  9. Fishing season? I can fish year round in Alabama. My condolences.
  10. Went Monday evening, fishing was slow, started about three thirty and fished till after six. My son caught three little ones, and I caught one keeper on a Zoom version of a Senko. The bait fish activity was slow where we were fishing, I think with more time I could have figured them out.
  11. My favorite time of year. There are less boaters, less skeeters and less snakes. And the fishing on the Tennessee river is great this time of year. As far as swim baits go, I have been swimming grubs and hair jigs for years.
  12. I fished Pickwick from McFarland Saturday and Sunday. My friend caught his personal best small mouth. We also caught a bunch of small spots. He used a lipless crankbait, and I used grubs. We never went below Seven Mile Island. The upper portion of Pickwick is a blast from now until next July or August. Our trip this morning was shortened by the wind and rain. I am gonna try to get in some late evening trips this week, where maybe I can stay on them. Plus I am gonna experiment with learning to flip and using a Carolina rig.
  13. Welcome from Florence.
  14. Don't feel bad, I live in Florence and ain't fished Guntersville yet.
  15. I usually fish from McFarland park, and go west. With the Trail of Tears and I think the Darryl Worley thing, the parks will be crowded this weekend. But I am gonna try somewhere this weekend. Maybe at the trace park.
  16. The only wrong way to fish a jig, is for it to stay dry. Nice catch.
  17. Went this afternoon for awhile. Two little smallies, one about fourteen inches and the other about eleven inches. I also caught one largemouth about twelve inches long. Add a three pound catfish. I have had better trips but have had worse also. Since I am no longer riding a motorcycle, I will be spending more time on the river. And how cool would it be to win a tournament with your twelve year old son as a partner.
  18. Nice pictures. And congratulations on having a wife that fishes with you.
  19. The barge canal can be productive. But be careful.
  20. I have had bass come up out of weeds after baits. It makes yer heart jump when they do that.
  21. I havn't used the A rig yet, but I can tell you that the fishing is good below Wilson Dam right now. If you ain't fishing tailraces right now you are missing a good thang. I went today and caught five largemouths and one smallie and some rough fish. I don't think anyplace where the water is moving on the Tennessee river is a bad place to fish.
  22. Thanks, I have used the Silver Minnow before with success, but I have not used the Alabama Rig yet. But I guess that is next.
  23. I just read it! Great report. I will go back one afternoon this week, maybe more. Since I can be on the lake in fifteen minutes, and I get off work at two thirty in the afternoon it ain't no thang for me to go below Wilson dam two or three times a week.
