Im outta my league here but i finnesse fish with a BC sometimes.i have 2 tech specs and use them on a old school pistol grip lightning rod with 6 lb yo zuri.the reel weighs 6 oz the rod 3 oz .im casting 1/16 on up with no probs.To the OP though the rod IMO is 90% of your casting. med light and light action rods will .cast better as mots are made for lighter weights as posted on the rod.

Not bashing shimano ,but sounds to me like lews,abu and daiwia have hit a hot spot with reels in the 100-200$ range and they aint the only big boy in town no more.So to make up the diff in money bein lost no more LT warrenty on rods,But i do suspect they will up there knowledge/productin and focus on reels more so in that price range.And just do it like the majority of mass produced rods one yr warrenty.you can make more money selling 1 million rods for 50 bucks then selling 50 thousands rods for 100 bucks

The diff in kvd and megabass is a few million bucks on a personal scale.truth is i love fishing and any reels,rods,lines,lures,boats that involve fishing.i collect abu round reels.but ill use w - e to catch fish.
