I have 2 uglystik 7' striper rods with 4000 size penn fierce reels under them.iuse them on shore and im my yak one has braid 30lbs one has 10 lb yo zuri.Use these in the chesepeake bay and potomac river.they have been through hell and.keep on tickin now for about 4 yrs.100$ combos

Get a made in usa bomber.i have a few from the 80s that still run great but look like death

I use pistol grips med fast action.Longer rods hamper the twitch.like i say if you aint using a pistol grip with topwaters and flukes you aint gettin the full monty out of them lures

I use dawn dish soap or meangreen q tips and i finish up with rem oil on bearings and penn grease on gears

Yall are right with analogies..any time any of us can go out fishing with one combo 5 days in a row and get skunked or break our own records.just as we can take 20 combos and get skunked or break records.the fish could care less and they have no clue all of us together spend millions on them a yr.all about fun.

Same here used aint all that bad.i aint had any issues and a majority of my reels are used .matter of fact i only have 9 reels new and 50+ used.cosmetic most are a 4 mech most are a 10 .looks dont matter a bit to me.a few of my abus look like junk and work perfect.

I use 2 rods on my yak.7 ft mh spinning with 2 spools filled with braid.and a med pistol grip bc filled with 12 lb yo zuri.i fluctuate between saltwater and fresh throughout the day.and i feel accomplished with just 2.never once have i thought "i shoulda brung another setup" thats me though i keep it as simple as needed

This coming from a abu guy.i owned 2 of these in the early 90s.i wished i still had them used them for 4 yrs and they were as bullet proof as my abus.i think these reels should be named a milestone for low pros and if i ever get my hands on any im keepin them and using them again

I have reels that cost 20$ brand new 50yrs ago.that was expensive i still use these reels.all jokes aside if you feel good using a 1500$ combo more power to ya.your fun and my fun are still the same.and another thing...old saying i have id rather have 4 quarters then 100 pennies

Yuup i like using my falcons and ustiks both have a place and i found the perfect niche for each.just like spinning vs bc to me thats like comparing a 18oz hammer to 19oz.

true we all have what we like ..and im not saying U.stik are greatest.what i find funny is when someone post about them i hear many say there is better.But when someone breaks 2 or 3 high dollar rods there are 60 pages about how bad or good costumer service is.And they blame ,bush,fish,or whoever.But no one dare say anything bad about the big 3.I love fishing and as long as im not complaining about breaking my rods 20 times a week.im in a win win situation.

The reason bein all jokes aside ...people are upset cause you can catch fish without spending money.they aint the lightest or have the best components..but the fish have no clue

I have 60+ abu bc reels 25ish BC rods.all i use all yr is three .2 pistol grips and 1trigger

I use a 3.8 abu4600 for wakebaits and squarebills.all sizes
