Thanks for the update- I would love for the "skin" to be able to be molded/ shrinked to your handles as taking everything off is not really applicable.

I have seen that these new Winn Grips the rubber sleeves grip going on rods. I was wondering what is sensitivity of that material and is the skin replaceable once worn? Can I buy just the sleeve to put over cork/EVA as I did not like the feel of the overwrap material but really enjoyed the short term feeling of the "skin". TIA

Yeah, I do not live in Texas... I have about 3 inches of ice right now in Illinois and the poster living in Minn I suppose he has more ice than me. Not too much bass fishing going on right now unless your in the river but I guess I should clarify that I meant in general it may be fast or slow.

It can also be fast so do not just get set into one thought of mind. My only extra chime in here would be that Hook sets are free- I'd rather know that it wasn't a fish then regret. I think it helps you learn as well since your not second guessing and helps your reaction time.

I finally bit the bullet and bought BPS 100 mph gortex bibs during their 5 day sale. 179.99 originally 239.99 they go on sale often enough though not a crazy good deal.

I did the same- wanted to get my free shipping from TW only needed a few things from there and figured 5.75 was not too bad and finished out the order. Checked Outlet and for 2.99 i ripped up a few $20 bills extra I don't think I can pricematch TW on an order already made- but I am going to check on Monday.

I spoke with a few people at Bass Pro shops and they said what is coming out this year with Lowrance and that MinnKota will have to seriously work to stay on top of the market. Panoptix is going to change the game. I decided to wait it out. Thanks though!

With your broken baits- do you keep them and send them back to rapala? They will replace them for free from my experience. I just usually wait until the end of the season and take all my broken bills or cracked plastic and send them back. Since 2 newborns I have not got to go out as much and use this- so I do not know if they still do it.

This is my first time hearing about "force beads". Sounds like a good idea and after some "googling" found out they are pretty loud. I use glass beads and do not really go heavy on the tungsten/Brass to break the bead but was wondering do they make this bead with facets like the glass bead? TIA

Going out on a limb here to see if anyone fishes from a pontoon? My dad finds it way easier to access the water from his pontoon boat. He just bought a new pontoon and it has the fishing seats in back with the trolling motor up front. Fish finder is mounted in the dash and transducer is in the back left (opposite driver side). It is the MinnKota Terrova with Ipilot and we tend to use the handheld to get around when trolling but I will use the foot pedal while bass fishing from the front. The issue: You cannot see the fish finder from the back seats where it is mounted in the dash and it bothers me beyond belief. When we bass fish out of it. I will cast from the front near the trolling motor and again I do not have any electronics which annoys me. I am debating mounting a transducer to the trolling motor but have no idea where to mount the screen that does not intervene with the cover or is easy to take on and off. Any ideas?

I agree with what everybody else has mentioned- I strictly use spinning gear for jerk baits and never have a problem. I make sure the line is wound properly on my reel and it does not have any memory to it. Another thing that I do that may help is after my jerks and its sitting in its' pause I will pull the rod away from the bait to take up slack prior to reeling.

I hardly use a spinning rod any more but want to be able to downsize my baits and was probably going to purchase a Gloomis GLX jig and worm rod for weightless texas rigs/ned rig/ other weightless plastics. I was planning on going Braid to fluorocarbon but was not sure how braided line will effect the higher modulus rod with the lighter line rating. I just do not want to overload the rod. Any thoughts?

Wrap those hooks up it will help you with pulling 1 out at a time.

I kid you not. About 15-20 years ago when my mom searched all over for the banjo minnow to buy for xmas/birthday -the fish shop owner would just laugh at her. Needless to say after 1000's of fish I feel I have had the last laugh as I have outdone many tournament fishermen on the original banjo minnow. I did have swap out hooks and rings- but now I have it down to a science and any type of day it simply will produce. As for the double fluke- for me has been a line twisting nightmare.

I understand that- I am not looking for anything crazy specific as I am not "absolute" in my rods. I have too many rods as is and want to start to cut out my lesser quality gear and fall in love with better quality. I bought 2 "more expensive" set ups and find myself using those rods for a variety of applications (I'd rather cut off and retie then use one of my lesser rods because I literally FEEL the difference in some applications). My "custom rod" that I own is just off the shelf from a rod builder. No idea on favorite blank. I know I want split grips Length 6'6'' -7'4 but can be anything in between No idea on guides- do not want micro Is there a way to get info on this stuff from never doing this before?

How do you store all of those? I am finding that my regular boxes with all those hooks are starting to break down some of the paint after all these years. Been thinking about Tubing just don't know if I can get over changing.
