Just wanted to see how you all set up your weights and bend the wire for the Tokyo rig. Seems the double worm weight (back to back) is the cleanest but having some issues with the wire catching weeds. Thanks

I'm interested in learning if you wouldn't mind sharing... since I am pretty sure this is true- even though I know there are a lot of other variables- in regards to the micro guides on this rod is all that really would effect the issue.

I know they are "better" but that's what someone else posted- why pay so much for something that doesn't have the sic guides.

braid usually takes off your spool wider and with the smaller guides has more resistance and potential for tangle since its shooting off the spool so quickly. I think they went with these guides for it to be lighter- not sure how much lighter it is compared to sic?

I know- downfall for the rod and I am not sold on the micro's but it is not much more for the upgrade- basically its 120 with a trade in and I am not sure if its worth that.

st croix avid x is the rod... when I brought up upgrading I meant using their upgrade policy.

Looking into buying the 7' ML Avid X wanted to hear thoughts on the rod. Have to burn some gift cards and may also trade in an old premier to upgrade. Was going to use the rod for weightless flukes and ned rig type applications. Also is upgrading the way to go with st croix?

I have been turning my reel tension down for further distance and am finding that I am getting some left to right action in the spool and every now and then it is making a noise from it hitting the reel. Is this common? Do I need to worry about it? I prefer the extra distance but wanted to make sure it is not detrimental to the spool/bearings. TIA

I do band my baits- they were brand new no rash and 6 hrs later had solid circles around each hook area. Would you say that is consistent? Thanks for the hook recommendations.

So I splurged this off season and bought some Megabass jerkbaits. Went out about 2 weeks ago in MI where they were still in prespawn and absolutely killed it. 58 fish in 6 hours most 13-14 inch range. Nothing big but the 3 that I was using- the paint was completely destroyed and not from fish- but from the hooks (which are super thin and super sharp with reverse barbs- which I didn't know existed). Is this regular for them? I mean I work them hard but from 6 hours of fishing? I was disappointed in the durability of the finish on the baits but they did catch fish so I was not too mad but wanted to see if that't the norm. TIA

Big! On a side note. There probably are a few 10 # LMB and SMB out there. Now to catch em. SMB is definitely going down soon.

I have some deep diving livingston lures that its eyes glow purple/blue along with the baitfish noise. I've caught fish but nothing too crazy to set it apart from a normal diver.

Fine print in the add did say had to use the club card with the promo. Wonder if it works without using it in store?

I am not at home and do not have a "club card" (unless that is just the rewards card) but got the flyer along with a bar code to scan or numbers to write. If I can find it when I get home I will let you know.
