Cranking mono?
I used that for my glide baits and was having a lot of frays on my line. Sunline thought it may have been a defective spool and took care of me. Haven't had the problem since. Have you experienced the frays?

Cranking mono?
Good Brandon Cobb line tiddybits. Good stuff from the Bassin'masters.com -- pay attention to the parts about the pros, who really ARE different from most of us: Mono > The rap on it is that it stretches, and the fact that it floats can be a disadvantage with some lures. > ...topwater baits. A line that floats will keep your lure from dropping nose down as you work it along. Another thing is that a slower hookset is better with most topwater lures. It lets the fish take the bait in its mouth deeper. The stretch in mono helps with that. > ...great cold-water cranking line. The bite will be lethargic. Bass need more time to mouth the bait. Mono, with its lesser feel and its stretch, makes it difficult to set the hook immediately. Fluoro > We want the feel and, because of our experience, we're able to delay a hookset when that's necessary. Some recreational anglers have enough experience to do that, some don't. Braid > It's great for topwater plugs. It floats and keeps the bait up high and performing as it should. You do have to make sure you delay your hookset, though. You won't get any help from braid. > One issue with braid that you should keep in the back of your mind is that it makes a rubbing sound in heavy vegetation. If that bothers you, think about using fluorocarbon. In heavier test weights it's almost as durable as braid.

Shimano Curado K Owners
I have 3 and I love them. It is a 200 sized reel- so it may be a little on the larger size for a 10 year old. I have one of the 8.1 for texas rigs rigs. You really can fine tune it and it is my smoothest reel I own. I may be in the market for a bantam or another K just need to figure out $$$

Best Dobyns?
I am at 2 now lol... Do you have experience with a DC764cb? Seems like a much faster tip than I was anticipating for the mod-fast rating. Hopefully to get it on the water sooner than later.

Casting Reel Sizes
Could not find too much info on this and wanted to ask you guys. When selecting a casting reel what changes the size you want? (ie. 50/70/90/100/150/200/300/400) Obviously the number is reel size and potential line capacity but some manufacturers vary lb test on the reel itself -a curado K 200 only holds 140 of 12lb but a 200 sized reel where as another brand can hold the full 200 at 12lb and is the same size. Now are there applications when you want one over another? Obviously if you cannot hold the enough line of a given lb test your need to up size your reel. But are there benefits to downsizing? I find 200 size reels comfortable but do not really need that much line- I only use the top half anyways- but want to make sure I am using the good line while having enough line left on the spool to get enough IPT that I want at the end of a cast. Just not sure if I am looking too much into this as I am stuck inside reading about fishing instead of fishing... Stay safe everyone.

Have you ever counted your lures?
After reading this thread and a few others it made me think that I should start to inventory. I do not have much as I fit all of my tackle into 1 bag and a miscellaneous shelf or tw. ok maybe 3. But I only inventoried my bag in depth (that I normally take with me) to try and stop the bait monkey from jumping on my back. Constantly finding a sale and jumping on it- because the bait monkey made me do it- is getting costly. I thought it would help.... It didn't- Now I need 2 new rod/reels and several baits that I am missing just to fill the void...

Flipping/Pitching Grass
could you cast it in the patch all the way to shore and work it back or is that out of the question for me? Some areas are THICK others are a bit more sparce.

Flipping/Pitching Grass
I am going to be trying this this year as I have a pretty silty bottom and have witnessed my baits disappear all to often. Tokyo rig pulls up too many weeds for my liking and I still have the ol texas rig and punch rig ready to go. My question for you would be do you find that you fish pretty close range or can I work the Bubba through an entire patch?

Flipping/Pitching Grass
What is your preferred method for attacking grass (texas rig, punch rig, tokyo, jika, chicken, ect.) Feel free to add anything special you may do that helps you get strikes.

What would you say to a HS bass fishing team?
What would you say to young anglers in High School about fishing competitively? Do you have any tips/suggestions to go along with that? Thank you!

Rod Socks - Sell me on them.
I make my own. They are much tighter than a store bought one and stay on forever- you have to grab the bottom to take them off or else they will not slide off. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074GRDZNW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 for $20 you basically get 15 sleeves +/-

How do you seal your cork handles? I am looking to seal my cork handles for the first time and was looking for pointers. Foam brush/bristles brush/paper towel wipe? Do I need to painters tape over blank/reel seat? Any suggestions? TIA

Spinning Rod Jerkbaits-What’s Your Setup?
I'm a spinning guy myself as well for jerkbaits. 6'6 M for shallower jerks and 7' mh for deeper jerks. Line- have used a bunch of different types and have not really found a preference but do not like straight braid. Mainly using Megabass or Rapalas

Where Do Bass Go After a Mid-Summer Weed Kill
We have quite a few people who contribute to getting their lake front taken care of. We do not see the immediate die off but rather a slow death and it does not get all the different types of weeds (I have no idea types of weeds or poison they use). I just know that they put a sign up at the launch that says should not eat the fish for 24 hrs-but do not tell any of the people that live on the lake or at the beach that I am aware of... Are they supposed to make this public knowledge in multiple ways or is the 1 sheet sufficient in ways of the law? As for the fish- At my lake they only do the people that pay- So I tend to watch where he goes, and skip those areas and hit up the ones where he did not do several fronts in a row.

Suspending Lipless Crank Baits
I missed you already said this too. Please disregard! "In this case, 6th Sense makes two models of the Quake 80, a 7/8 oz sinking, and a 1/2 oz suspending. The confusion comes in that they both use the same box, and the specs are for the sinking model. I apologize for the confusion." They should be 1/2 oz on the scale (I do not have one).
