  1. Casting for sure.
  2. I cast them on a medium/moderate action rod no problem. The lure is pretty compact and cast pretty well IMO. I am using 10 lb Yozuri Hybrid. Excellent crankbait bye the way. Grind them in rocks all day...
  3. My most expensive set up, retail, is about $350. What I actually spent is closer to $250. To me the $150 range for each rod/reel is the sweet spot for price/performance ratio. I usually spend about 2/3 of that on sale or $100 each.
  4. I really like moon juice, especially on the Cut-R or Cut-R ned.
  5. I own a bunch of Tatula rods/reels, thought these looked good. I purchased the rod from tackletrap and reel from southern reel outfitters. Tackletrap has code and southern was reduced when added to the cart.
  6. No need for me. I have been using baitcasters for 45 years...my thumb is more than trained.
  7. I just pulled the trigger on the 7'3" MH/F rod and 8.1:1 reel. $125 for the rod, and $139 for the reel. Does anyone have any experience with these and opinions? Thanks!
  8. I have to agree, my new Coastal SV TW casts better than my pre-2020 SV TW. Man, I love that reel. It has become my favorite. I might get another...don't tell the monkey!!
  9. I have about 25 combos. 5 of which I keep at home and the rest are at the lakehouse. The 5 at home are used for kayak fishing mostly. The remaining 20 I use boat fishing. When I boat fish, I usually bring 5-6 combos: M/xF, MH/F, H/F, M/F composite, M/F spinning, ML/F spinning. The problem I have, if I want to use one of the 20 rods at the lakehouse, I have to drive there to get them. The 5 I have at home cover 90% of the situations.

War Eagle's are my go-to spinnerbaits. Excellent quality, huge selection, can get some good prices on sale.
  11. I have about 20 combos. If I am boat fishing I bring about 6, if kayak fishing, I bring about 4. I decide before each trip which rods I bring (depends on technique/season).
  12. Savage Gear 3D Snake - I have used it, had a few small nibbles at the tail, but caught nothing on it as of yet.
  13. I am using a Tatula 150 with 5.4:1 gear ratio and 12 lb YZH. I also use a 6.3:1 Fuego CT for my cranks.
  14. Zoom Super Fluke Keitech Tungsten Football Jig with Zman Crawz trailer SK 3XD - perch
  15. Our Cairn's relaxing on a nice day...
  16. I bought me current pedal kayak from Austin Kayak - fanstastic I bought my current paddle kayak from a local dealer - fantastic Other ways: Offer Up, Craigslist, Facebook
  17. Perch, trout, ghost and bluegill colors all work well up here.

Booyah Padcrasher, Jackall Kaera, and Spro Bronzeye Jr
  19. I have used mine several times, I am very impressed...might get another. It casts well, even with lighter lures. I threw a weightless super fluke with it, no problem.
  20. If you get a YouTube Channel and enough followers, you can go to companies and inquire...guys get free kayaks to test/rate for example.
  21. I must be old school, I always have a spinnerbait tied on. I am the opposite of you and have only caught 1 fish on a chatterbait. I like using single blades almost exclusively. If I am using a tandem, it’s almost always a double willow - like a War Eagle screaming eagle.
  22. I have an OT Topwater 106 PDL. The weight is going to be the biggest difference and when the battery drains, you’re done fishing. I believe they come with a battery system? An electric motor is going to be quiet enough I would guess? It’s not like a large bassboat electric. I ordered Boonedox Landing Gear on the advice of ACK staff. I have not installed them yet. Access to install is through the rear hatch. I believe the Sportsman has the same hatch? If you’re unsure, call OT, great customer service. I am currently using a C-Tug with pool noodles attached. It works very well. I have another kayak that I originally purchased those for, that’s why I ordered the Boonedox. I haven’t installed the Boonedox yet because the instructions suck and some cutting of a component is required (bandsaw).
  23. Excellent rod, huh? I have a Tat SV TW on mine. Excellent balance, great rod for $109, let alone the $200 range.
  24. I have ordered 2 rods from Amazon: Kastking Perigee 2 Travel rod and Daiwa Ardito Travel rod. Both came in tubes.
