Tell us about your kayak
My maiden voyage! Love this kayak. Better than expected. A true pleasure to fish out of it. Now I need to set it up with sonar, crate, etc.

Looking to expand jerkbaits
Agreed: Shadow Rap, Husky Jerk, and size 11 floating. The Ripstops are good too.

Crankbait rod
The 6XD and C-15 are 1 oz. right at the XTs max. Maybe I’ll save myself some money? The 7’4” Tatula glass says it’s for chatterbaits...I have a 7’6” Tatula XT in heavy. That’s my flipping and pitching rod.

Crankbait rod
Good to know. I have used the MH throwing the DD Tactical crank, it weighs 3/4 oz. It does very well with that size. It is rated up to 1 oz. The 6XD and C-15 and C-20 are heavier than that, I believe. If the rod is heavier than rating, it might work. I'll try it out with the C-20 next week.

I was considering the 7’2”, but what about the 7’4” Glass?

Have you ever counted your lures?
This is my collection of mostly pre-80s lures. I collected and used these as a kid and into my early twenties. I haven’t counted them.

CHATTERBAIT TRAILER...paddletail or not?

- How did most of you start?
Started with a 12 foot jon boat, bought a 17.5 foot bass boat (Challenger), now I have a 12 foot smokercraft with 7.5 Honda outboard and 2 kayaks (1 pedal, 1 paddle). Man, I loved that bass boat. It was super fast and stable in rough water. I miss that boat. We are in the market for a pontoon boat for the lakehouse (casual fishing, tubing, and cruising).- The latest sale thread
Rapala.com has 20% off crankbaits: CRANK20. Finally got some Rippn Raps!- Favourite swim jig
I like 6th Sense Divine Swim jigs and Dirty Jigs- What’s your favorite brand rod? Megabass, shimano, st croix, G.loomis...
Daiwa is my favorite.- Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)

They catch bass for sure. My buddy and I caught several on the 30 size last summer. We were fishing them in sparse pads.- Favorite bands
I love this album, probably the best one they produced. Favorite song is Camera Eye.- Vision 110 Jr.
Mine suspends, I am using 10 lb Invisx. I have caught a bunch of fish (all kinds) on that size.- spinnerbaits
I always have one tied on. One of the most versatile baits around. Slow roll on the bottom, burn on top, and anywhere in between. I like white and single blades the best.- Fishing in "the old days"
My best friend got me started at age 5. He had a 12 foot jon boat. We fished out of that thing so many times, dawn until dusk. His mom would take us in her station wagon, drop us off, and pick us up after dark. We had a blast catching bass out of that jon boat. We used that boat until we were both in our 20s.- Fluorocarbon what do you use?
I like Seagusr Invisx and Sunline Assassin- 42 replies

- 195 pounder caught in Illinois!
When I was a teenager, I was fishing with my younger brother on a dock at a friends house. He was casting while I was tying a new bait on. I saw his lure cross my face (number 9 rapala), I said "wait!!!!", he did not listen and cast the lure. It got hooked in my nose. My mom had to take me to the emergency room to get it removed, the worst part about it, every bump she hit hurt because that rapala was dangling out of my nose!! - How did most of you start?
