I'll just flip him.
Spinning or Casting? I've got one of each in 6'6" that are being relegated to 'back up' status....

$400 spinning combo for river smallies
He did say he liked shorter rods - so the 6'8" MXF is more in line with that.

Wait for the Black Friday sales.... St Croix Victory 6'10" MLXF or the 6'8" MXF Throw a Shimano Stradic or Vanford on it and you're golden.

I don't care how big or small it it...if it's not a panfish, it gets netted.

The latest sale thread
Anyone looking to order from Digitaka...prices are starting to creep up. Tatula 100H I'd had in my cart went from $114 to $116 the past few days...so pulled the trigger before it got higher.

If a top-shelf bass fishing celebrity could join BassResource...
I pop in there every now and then...but mainly I pop into the BR channel on YT, sort by date and see if you and he have put up any new vids...that's where I get most of my Hank quota.

Fiberglass stored outside
He could have one heck of a bathtub...

Pfluger president 25 failure...
You can say that again. My personal dislike is that they dumped all but one model of Pflueger casting reels.

Help-Tension Knob Won’t Stay Tight
Since Quantum is owned by Rather Outdoors (Lews, Strike King) - why would Shimano even consider 'honoring' the warranty?

DIY - again
Ya - the Mark-1 in the garage was just that. The Mark-2 is the 16 slot with through holes on one board, brass hooks on the other. This will be moved to the ceiling in the 'fishing room' for over-flow. I've dedicated a 8.5' x 11' spot in the basement, walled it off - that's the fishing room. During the winter, my gear is stored in there, including all the boat gear that gets pulled out (PFDs, Sonar, batteries, etc)

I bought a LC Pointer the other day and it sinks.
The XR is suppose to be a suspending - did you swap out the hooks...comes with #6, if you went bigger that could cause it. https://luckycraft.com/luckycrafthome/Products/jerkbait/LightningPointer110XR.htm

15 HP Johnson MPG
MPG is almost impossible to figure out for a boat...it's always HPG (hours per gallon). So many variables can change how many miles you go...wind, current, wave action, is the motor height/angle set properly, how much weight is in the boat, is it planing?

Help-Tension Knob Won’t Stay Tight
Sounds like a warranty issue - I'd contact Quantum first...

Calculating Battery Life for Trolling Motor
Not exactly 140 reserve translates to 58ah RT/60*25 - https://battlebornbatteries.com/battery-reserve-capacity/ A MinnKota C2 30# will draw 30 amps at speed 5, 5 amps at speed 1 https://www.trollingmotors.net/blogs/selection/86961351-calculating-motor-run-time Now it's just simple math At top speed, you got just under 2 hours before the battery is completely drained...which is a No-No for Lead-Acid batteries (wet cell, gel-cell, AGM) - so call it an hour. If you go slow the whole time - you can effectively get 6 hours. Your actual time will be between those two based on what speed you go for how long.

DIY - again
With the rods I have, and the ones I'm going to order this shopping season...the 16 spot rack I made a couple years ago is gonna run out of room. So, decided to make a new one with more spots, and decided to do it right. This is phase-1 of the build...side uprights. Yes, there's two there clamped together for drilling/cutting so that they're identical. 24 slots in 6' - end of the year I'll have 19 rods...so some room for expansion of my arsenal.

Rate the song above you
One thing about some 80s groups - they made hits of covers. This one went to #6 for Hall and Oates, but was written by Mike Oldfield and originally sung by Maggie Reilly.

Massive Hooksets
Or at least sharpen the ones you have.

Is there any advantage to a regular cloth mesh net over a rubber one?
Depends on how fine the mesh is...some say 'fine' but 5/16 or 3/8 mesh isn't 'fine' IMO. This is what I have, and it hasn't 'eaten' a treble hook yet. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001FTU7YY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 At 40" extended, it's almost half again the length of what you have and the 16"x18" hoop has been big enough so far, even for the occasional carp. Though they've got a 20"x22" available too
