  1. I got a couple sheets of 1/8" fiberboard taking up space...pay the shipping and they're yours.
  2. Or you could just weld over it "The Steel Core 44-piece 80-Watt iron plastic welding kit can be used to repair plastics in automotive and agricultural equipment, ATV's, kayaks, toys and most other TPO, TEO and PP materials." https://www.homedepot.com/p/Steel-Core-80-Watt-Iron-Plastic-Welding-Kit-with-40-Welding-Rods-41403/308107827
  3. This seems to be the new normal for TW.
  4. Another place I've bought from also has Dobyns sales...usually around BF.
  5. With luck - they'll still have the discount running end of November when I actually have the money...long as it gets the price under my hard limit.
  6. I'll throw that on the list...thanks.
  7. Still in the running, Mike - but as it'll be a couple months before I have the cash to do this...I want all possible options on the table with evidence based reviews....not just 'feels'.
  8. I hadn't even thought of that, Tom....thanks.
  9. Ya - I've been using my FR-704C for bottom contact with an Aird-X MH/F for moving baits...but like you said, I've not been getting the feedback. I tossed the FR-734C into the mix cause I am kinda a Dobyns fan-boy at this point...but truthfully it was down the list a bit. Ya - 5/8 would be the top and rarely...mostly 3/8 and 1/2 jigs
  10. Ya - this is purely for bottom contact. I already have a Fury 704 for general purpose work.. 15# or 17# FC - 3/8-5/8 jigs, 1/4-1/2 on T&C Rigs.
  11. Ya - usually if the listing is still up with zero stock, they plan on replenishing their supply. Oh definitely - I've got a couple reels just waiting for me to get the money for them. Tatula SV TW - US retail $200 - Digitaka price $156 Shimano NASCI - US retail $99 - Digitaka price $78 - and it's a model not available here in the States to boot.
  12. Weird - I never had an issue with XL but did with cheap-generic stuff. Just make sure your line is snug on the spool and it's not overfilled.
  13. Where stationed? I was at Offutt from Sept 1980 to June 1984.
  14. Na - it's a general thing caused by lures spinning at the end...bad side of any spinning reel. Saying that - I've got 4 spinning rigs I use frequently for bass fishing....but after 50+ years of using spinning gear, I'm kinda use to the 'maintenance' part of line management.
  15. If you have a boat - lay out about 60-70 yds behind you without a lure on. Troll slow, pinch the line just behind the first guide and reel it in. On land - connect end to a swivel, tie that to a tree or fence post...pull it slightly taunt, then pinch and reel in as you slowly walk to the swivel.
  16. Ya - I'm not gonna have the money until probably Black Friday anyway....I am also looking at the Mojo Bass 7'1" MH/F... I'm partial to split-grips so the Tatula 7'3" MH/F is kinda on the sidelines...unless it's that much better.
  17. One of a couple possible reasons I can think of off the top of my head 1: The spool is over-filled and it's pulling loops off 2: The line isn't tight on the spool...and it's pulling loops off.
  18. Ya, unfortunately I've got a 'hard' limit of $140...very slim budget...and even without tax the Okuma is over that. The Ark, Denali and Fury squeak in under that limit.
  19. Okay - after last year's massive expenditure on the F-9, I'm back to upgrading/adding to my arsenal Looking for a good jig/worm rod that's within my budget - with specials and such the following all qualify. Which would be the best in your opinion? Ark Tharp 7'3" MH/F Daiwa Tatula XT 7’3” MH/F Denali AttaX 7'4" H/F Dobyns Fury 734C St Croix Bass X 7’1” MH/F
  20. Ya - pretty much take the Dobyn's designation and drop it one level...at least on the casting side. My FR-704C is labeled as a 'Heavy' - but the line/lure stats are the same as my Aird-X 'Medium Heavy'
  21. Daiwa likes to use 'Regular' on a number of it's rods - that would equate to 'Moderate'
  22. It's a little under my yearly budget - but not by much. Course last year, the lion's share went to the F-9 rebuild - this year...some new reels and rods are on the list.
  23. Ya - I go minimum of 15#, and that's for 'clear' water...if I'm dragging through weeds, 17# or 20#
  24. I received a couple Edge boxes for Fishmas last year. I tried...I really did...but I didn't like them. Can't put my finger on one specific thing, but they're sitting on a shelf unused after several attempts to organize tackle in them. I'm sticking with my ProLatch....
  25. Shimano Curado 200PGK - 5.0:1 - $190
