  1. ^ You have to KNOW that no one is gonna reduce prices even if the tariffs go away....they want more profit for their stock-holders and upper management, and this is an easy way to get it.
  2. One job I worked, we had to make sure those tie-mounts performed in damp environments. Drop of super-glue on the adhesive before securing was how we worked it.
  3. Cause the Loomis rods are still made in the US - not subject to tariff - while the Shimano rods are made in Japan/Korea/Malaysia/etc and subject to tariff. Doesn't matter where the home company is based, it depends on where the manufacture takes place.
  4. And they'll turn it around and point you at the yahoos out east who started the whole thing. The MAP increase is BECAUSE of the tariff being applied...otherwise Shimano (and others) would not make any profit.
  5. Mainly it boils down to simple retail economics....I managed a convenience store for a while and here's an example. - Crystal Sugar tells it's distributors that they're raising the wholesale cost by 3% - Distributor tells our main office of the cost increase. - Main office confirms it and authorizes a price increase. Now MY store still has 3-4 weeks of supply on hand based on average sales so I don't have to order for a bit. BUT I increase the price immediately so that when I DO have to order, I'm not cutting into profit earned to pay for the resupply.
  6. To pay for the ones on order from Shimano to replenish stock.
  7. ^ It's called 'Tariffs'....
  8. Just checked = FishUSA has quite a selection of colors in DT-6/8/10. Not on sale, but if you need them, they probably have them.
  9. It's 14' - I ripped the original three seats out, build a sub-floor and filled that with pour-foam, then a superstructure of aluminum angle and decked it out. Pic of mid-build.
  10. I wouldn't mind that - have the guys who actually work to catch fish in the tour rather than the ones who can quickly read a screen.
  11. If the torque is adequate, then it should be good. I recently traded my 2001 Silverado ( which the local shop said needed a new engine) for a 2014 VW Jetta TDI Wagon - diesel powered. Once I put a hitch on the Jetta, it's got more than enough power to tow Bass Trek around.
  12. I know @gim will disagree with me on principle - but I've had better luck with Drop-Shot over Free-Rig.
  13. That's not a kayak - that's a one-person pontoon boat. Let us know when you stop laughing....I'm chuckling here myself.
  14. Dude - pictures from the future...tell me how you did it? (Most of your pics are dated February of NEXT year.)
  15. Well, take it slow, document everything and pay attention to the schematics. This is what one of my Tatula 100s looks like broken down for cleaning/re-lubing...from my own maintenance cycle last winter. Most casting reels will be very close to this.
  16. Or take the easy way out - send them to Mike at DVT....he'll treat them right.
  17. Having used YZH for years - I wouldn't go above 8# on a 2500 or even 3000 reel. 10# and above I save for casting reels. Don't forget that 8# YZH has a tested breaking strength of 12# per the IGFA.
  18. How hard you trying to fling it? I just use wrist and elbow...shoulder never comes into the equation.
  19. What pound test - I never put over 20# on my 2000/2500 reels, 10# on my 1000 size
  20. Either any carpet adhesive rated for outdoor use or just Liquid Nails.
  21. ^ Baitcasters are MUCH more prone to backlashes than spinning reels.
  22. Nope - way to post vids is to upload it to YouTube (or other vid repository) then post a link to it. Reason? Glenn doesn't have the storage space on his server to hold all the vids people post.
  23. No difference - and FF usually has things at lower prices than just about anywhere else...they even beat Amazon frequently. FF is my first stop for fishing gear...always.
  24. Welcome from the 'Great White North' - otherwise known as Minnesota.
  25. Cable and telephone costs (internet on either) is whatever the company can squeeze out of you. Remember that these companies have monopolies in the communities they service...all blessed by the money they kick back to the local governments...so there is no real competition.
