  1. I have to agree with everything @FloridaFishinFool said...why should I give up my chance to move up some spots....maybe even win if I catch a couple monsters? Fishing tournaments are a business with each contender being an independent contractor. Imagine if you run a small business...would you back out of a possible money making venture just because "The other guy has a chance of making a bigger profit."? You'd soon 'etiquette' your way out of business.
  2. Seth is a part owner - of course he's in there when he can be Omnia, FishUSA, ALF are all places I've had good luck with online orders.
  3. Laminated bags of all sizes at https://baitplastics.com/product/bait-bags/
  4. ^ Then just a bit slower so that those 'hiccups' don't put you over the limit....easy enough.
  5. Had to do it - sorry/not sorry https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1FcnKYMtvQ/
  6. Personally - those come under the heading of 'pay attention'. If you can't keep your speed constant even with wind and current, get off the water. Nope - speed through a no-wake zone and you get permanently banned.
  7. ^ Easy way to make sure - every boat in the tournament has to have a tracker and they're monitored (AI maybe) during water time. If they exceed the tournament speed limit, they're immediately disqualified...no 'I slipped', no 'I wasn't paying attention'...no excuses period.
  8. It's not the HP that needs restricting - it's the speed. I don't care if you got 500hp behind your boat...just move at a speed where you have full awareness and control. Personally, I think they need to institute a speed limit on all tourney anglers.
  9. Agreed - I used my old Mitchell when we vacationed on Cape Cod, and just making sure it was rinsed after every trip kept it in good condition for 20+ years. This was also the reel I used for bass and panfish on lakes, and trout on streams - only had the one reel for my first 10 years of fishing.
  10. Sorry, Russ...that falls behind a good Irish Whiskey.
  11. I know Reaction Tackle ones come with a separate CPS even though the mounted spring is just a coil...no centering pin. I still use them cause they're relatively inexpensive for tungsten.
  12. I use Cals for my grease - and believe it or not, I've had very good luck using this as my oil
  13. Minnesota has the exact same penalties for boating under the influence as it does for driving under the influence. What we need is more Sheriff's Patrol Boats out on the water....
  14. Minnetonka has a speed limit of 40mph - and it's enforced by the County Sheriff's Water Patrol. They don't catch all the speeders - just like on the roads - but when they do the punishment can include impounding of the boat.
  15. ^ And you forget that every cell phone for the past number of years has GPS built in....unless you're using a pre-2010 cell phone....you're already being tracked...and even back to 2000 many higher-end phones already had it.
  16. ^ We don't have quite that number of tournaments on Minnetonka - but we occasionally have more than one going at the same time. 15th of this month, for example, we have a Bass tournament AND a Muskie tournament happening at the same time...talk about confusion.

This is the one I got a few years ago....it's worked well and is pretty accurate https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07L92PSMP?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_5&th=1
  18. 20# as leader on my heavy pitching rig, 15# on my med-light pitching rig and my heavy jig rig - InvizX or Tatsu (when I got spare cash)
  19. Dobyns Fury 765-Flip for heavy cover St Croix Mojo 7'3" MH/XF for moderate to light cover
  20. Yep - lots of good ideas and tip on those two...I referenced them often when doing my build.
  21. I personally wouldn't go smaller than 14 gauge for a charging connection and my 5amp charger is using 10gauge to connect to the battery.
  22. I thought we'd posted this often enough. https://www.pattayafishing.net/fishing-reel-line-capacity-estimator/ Put in diameter/length posted on reel, put in diameter of line you want to use and it'll tell you how much it holds.
  23. You can get a replacement for that https://www.amazon.com/Custom-MAX-CAPACITIES-Boat-Plate/dp/B08BG6MZ66/ref=sr_1_6?crid=BH3SO6K1GQ8T&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.1T7R2in7v2BNfLuzC91OJBZxT2K04NqNaVPLcHtehN1wnORACwEvkxH0DnibeXnEKR7arGsDpDnlJ1huJ3wmsZwKleCOoHY5kynLl6r9hAHbIsC4U_uiRk_2I76Zk97xCPe5q7BU1K2bV4TteQC2NMhsrMB-Q28IUf0r20gY8SmiJUsNH8Ze9e97FacUVkb079F2P9WaZpdOAetCp41DKOK53cGy4ZQpoq0XzfpODKR-5HHGl9psrM1X2KU6bsYXvlP5TKFcxn5KwwNP2GNybG_nuzgXiqKSVJVPh1UgZgI.lNElY5He3GJxt0wbTrsZGq47PMnRCJDziAZ37mw2Mtk&dib_tag=se&keywords=boat+capacity+plate+replacement&qid=1757293609&sprefix=boat+capac%2Caps%2C291&sr=8-6
