  1. Only half my rods are Furys - 702SF, 703SF, 703C, 704C, 705CB 702SF is my finesse rod, 704C is my T-Rig/Jig rod Others Two Okuma Relexions - both spinning: ML/MF, MH/F Two Aird-X - both casting: MH/F, H/F One Procyon - L/F The Aird-X MH/F is my moving baits rod. I might be able to free the money for a Fury 765FLIP - put the Aird-X H/F for frogs/topwater only - but that'd be about it this year. My budget any year is VERY lean - this year it's especially tight with the boat work I need to do.
  2. Maybe next fall - this fall/winter's budget is for the boat.
  3. My cap is even lower than that - I think a Sierra or maybe a Kaden would be as high as I could go budgetarily speaking. I'm very happy with my Dobyns Fury rods - just wished they had more options, like Mod action in things other than the CB rod.
  4. Or a questionable group I think. Anytime I mention the G-Boys by full name...it's held for approval.
  5. As already noted - wacky, shaky, light T-Rig, soft swimbaits. I'd add to that - small jerkbaits and light finesse jigs Neds I go lighter - L/F is my main Ned rod, ML/F is my general finesse rod which I can toss Neds on.
  6. Fury doesn't have a MH spinning - the 703SF is the highest and it's a Medium. Sierra has a MH and a H in spinning though.
  7. For techniques that don't require a ton of sensitivity - spinners/chatters/etc - I feel my Aird-X MH/F is very close to being as good as my Fury 704C. Where the Fury does better is things like finesse or bottom contact - where you need to feel the lure more. I have a mix of rods - probably going to keep the Aird-X for moving baits, but I've upgraded to Furys for things like finesse (702SF) weightless presentations like wacky or flukes (703SF/703C), bottom contacts like T-Rigs and Jigs (704C) and will probably add a 735C to my lineup for flip/pitch - but keep the Aird-X H/F for frogs and topwater.
  8. African Greys are VERY intelligent for birds. One of the girls I dated while in the Air Force had one named 'Colonel'...he was a card and very well trained...swore like a Navy enlisted man though.
  9. Different areas, pal. Up here, I've had my best luck with the GP and Bluegill colors for both...they seem to ignore bright/light colors. Except spinners - there I go white/chartreuse more often than not...go figure...maybe our bass are weird.
  10. Have a little too much to drink last night, Kent? (snicker)
  11. Don't know if Mike puts all styles in this package - but it is a random selection of his jigs. https://siebertoutdoors.com/products/ols/products/swim-jig-package/v/SWM-JIG-PCK1-RND-PCK
  12. One of these times you need to have Keri at least poke her head over your shoulder or something...
  13. Must be a small lake. On Minnetonka if you do that, they just change their location...14k acres for them to hunt.
  14. Clear your cache, re-load your browser...pics come up fine for me.
  15. I've been using the 7' Aird-X H/F for frogging, flipping, pitching and heavy topwater (WP-110+, Super Spook, etc) for three years now. It's done the job, but I'm looking to upgrade to the Fury 735 this coming winter.
  16. 100/1000 size is more for finesse techniques. For what your looking to do - a 200/2000 is as small as I'd go. One note about Pflueger if your considering that - their sizes don't 'match up' 20 is a 500 25 is a 1000 30 is a 2500 35 is a 3000
  17. I dunno about Blue, but I can feel spinner and chatter blades through my Aird-X and I don't even palm the reel. Light grabs are a little more problematic, but the Aird-X has been a good rod for my moving baits so far...not even considering an upgrade soon.
  18. I would say any 2500-3000 size My picks in order of preference Pflueger Supreme or Supreme XT Diawa Fuego LT Shimano NASCI Lews Custom Pro Speed Spin
  19. You're gonna get about 2 million answers to that open-ended question Some defining questions to help us help you 1) What techniques are you going to fish with this? 2) What's your budget 3) Are you preferential to any brands.
  20. A CPS spring can be used on pretty much anything.
  21. Gray is fairly innocuous...now the Green Smackdown...
  22. Longer you've been around, the longer period of time you get to edit. Newbies get a few minutes grace...I've been able to edit post after a couple hours still.
  23. Same rod here for my moving baits - spinners, chatters - really good rod at the price point. "Aird-X", Clayton
  24. Or even a decade later...kid in the 60s, teen in the 70s myself...still lots more 'freedom' than in later years.
  25. Blame it on the heat wave we had Average number of 90+ days - 13 Number of 90+ days this year - 27
