  1. 4" Fluke or Super Fluke Jr - trailer or drop-shot 5" Super Fluke - soft swimbait, weightless or weighted 3" Tiny Fluke - NED, drop-shot...general finesse Another site is where I get mine, maybe a little more expensive than BPS/Cabelas, but almost always has a larger selection of colors available. (another forbidden seller?)
  2. I'd check it for roughness first - run a Q-Tip over the area of the dent, if any fibers get snagged, then you need to replace the spool. It'll abrade the line and cause failure, lost lures, lost fish, etc. Contact the manufacturer or one of the reel-parts shops on-line. No snags? If it's fairly shallow, it shouldn't affect the casting distance at all. Deeper dents might cause a little 'flapping', but won't affect the distance too much. It's more unsightly than anything else for most people...me, if it still works fine, it's fine.
  3. Can you fit a 7'0" rod in the boat storage? I would suggest looking at a 7'0" Heavy/Fast at minimum. Dobyns Sierra 705C would fit the bill for frog, jig, flip/pitch. Past several seasons I've been using a 7'0" Diawa Aird-X Heavy/Fast for all that.
  4. Oh...that's the Pro, not the Flex Flex looks like this. https://www.amazon.com/Plano-Edge-Terminal-Tackle-Storage/dp/B08Q7KS1NM?th=1
  5. No idea - I tried original Spider Wire years ago...got turned off to it...have avoided Spider Wire since
  6. Gotta link, cause my Prime isn't showing it.
  7. 10# braid is good on a spinner I've got 10# on a 1000 size, 20# on a 3000 size I'd go with an 8-carrier braid like Sufix 832 over a 4-carrier braid like Power Pro.
  8. How to fish? They're just down-sized crank and jerkbaits What to use? I'd toss them on my ML/MF spinning rig - Mitchell Avocet RZT-2000 on an Okuma Reflexions 7'0" ML/MF rod, 8# InvizX. That's the rig I toss most of my cranks/jerks that are 3/16oz or less on Including: Rapala Original Floating 03 & 07 Rapala Husky Jerk 06 Berkley Frenzy Flicker Shad #5
  9. 29.99 Amazon 27.99 Omnia Hmmm
  10. I was in the Junior Smallbore Rifle Club that was held at the local Armory twice a month. Used my own gun. Toted the gun in it's case to school, kept it in my locker...otherwise I would have had to go 1 mile north, then 2 miles south to get the gun and get to the Armory. Principal knew, teachers knew...everyone knew...no big deal. I wasn't the only one...two others in the Club did the same thing.
  11. You'd have to switch the connectors - I don't think there's a way to link two transducers to the same unit at the same time...the unit would get confused. Maybe there's a switch out there...transducers plug into the switch, the switch plugs into the unit? I dunno.
  12. Omnia's at it again - 30% off Plano 3700 Edge Flex now through Thursday.
  13. Oh ya - Joe's is an 'old timer' around here. One location only...it's a 'mom and pop shop' done good in the age of the Internet.
  14. Sounds like Scheels - which is based here and concentrated in the upper-midwest, but has some store-fronts more south...one in Texas even. Scheels and Fleet Farm have become my new main sources of tackle. When I can get InvizX for $20 a spool and that's the regular price...
  15. I was a member many years ago, rejoined last year because of the good memories of highly informative articles. Very disappointed - I get ten times as much info here than I do from the mag...gonna let my membership fade back into the woodwork when it's up.
  16. The five rigs I reach for the most? 7'0" MH/F, 7.1:1 BC, 15#Tatsu - bottom contact, swim jigs 7'0" MH/F, 7.9:1 BC, 40# 832 - spinner/chatter/buzz 7'0" MH/MF, 6.3:1 BC. 12# YZH - cranks, squarebills, topwater 7'0" M/F, 7.3:1 BC, 10# Advance Mono - jerks, soft swimbaits, lipless 7'0" ML/F, 1000-size Spinner, 10# 832/6# InvizX - finesse
  17. I rarely order from TW anymore because of their back-order policy. Plus I can find prices as good or even better at other places.
  18. Can't do that up here - bass, perch, sunnies, crappie...all illegal to use as bait in MN.
  19. I was talking the fish you caught with it...it's about the right size to catch a hawg.
  20. Working on catching your own bait now?
  21. I think IL is like MN - we title boats, we title trailers...what motor you have on it, so long as the boat is rated for it, is inconsequential...ergo: no title for motors.
  22. If we're talking #-test, Brian...ummm...all my FGs are that way...braid 'heavier' than the mono/FC leader.
  23. I probably spent 10-12 hours over the course of a week just practicing the FG knot before I felt confident enough to use it on the water. Tie, cut off, tie, cut off - 5-6 times then walk away for a bit before coming back and starting all over again.
  24. Looks to me like proper tension wasn't maintained throughout the tying process. Trying to cinch it down after the knot is fully wrapped isn't going to help. If you notice the wraps are loose before finishing, need to un-wrap and try again.
  25. Even if the Rage was twice the price of the Googan, I'd go with the Rage. Just because...
