Suffix 832?
Why trim it off if it's not showing signs of wear other than the fading? I've run the same length (minus lure changes) of 832 going on 3 years now. Ya, it's faded back about 40 yds...but it's still in fine shape.

Suffix 832?
Fading is a non-issue as it fades to a pale color that's pretty innocuous. Remember that they sell a 'Ghost White' color that's fairly popular too.

Beginner/portable unit
There's several units out there that have a portable kit. Garmin Striker 4 Humminbird Helix 5 and Helix 7 Lowrance Hook 2-4x Lowrance doesn't have maps at all Garmin doesn't have maps built in, but has quickdraw so you can create you own maps Both Helix models include Lakemaster charts. These are the top brands - and can easily be converted to full boat-mount once you have your own water-craft.

Suffix 832?
1) 8-carrier instead of 4-carrier like Power Pro - rounder, lays on the spool better...especially spinning reels 2) Gore strand makes it a bit more abrasion resistant than others 3) Value-vs-performance - price is only a bit higher than PP, but is far-and-above a better line. Only braid I've used that's better is Smackdown, but that's twice the price of 832 and I'm on a budget. I haven't used anything but PP, 832 and Smackdown so can't say anything about other braids.

GARMIN
$40 would have saved the first one - tempered glass protector https://www.russellmarineproducts.com/product-p/rmp-gsp-9em.htm I got one for my Striker 7...well worth it.

Charging trolling motor batteries on a trip
Ask nicely and the hotel might let you plug in.

Add seating in front of consoles on a bass boat?
Think about sitting them on a tonneau cover and driving down the highway...same type of danger of falling off...and at high speeds, water is HARD. As Tom says, have them sit as low as possible facing backwards if you take them with...and obey the capacity label.

Super Spooks Top Water Line Choice ?
40# 832 to a short 15# AbrazX leader - I like the AbrazX for this as it's stiffer than InvizX or Tatsu...prevents the limp braid from getting tangled in the hooks. Super Spooks, WP-110/130...any of the larger top-waters.

looking for a Daiwa rod
Good luck - quite a few rods from overseas brands are backordered.

That time of year
Love it - saved it.

Finally - An October Bass
Welcome to the dark side - we have cookies. I've got 2 Aird-X rods still in my boat inventory, and two more relegated to shore fishing. Far as I'm concerned...nothing better in that price-group...even at $55 SRP.

2 New Smaller Bass Cat Boats
I learned to water-ski behind a 1970s Crestliner Tri-Hull - pulled people quite well with a 75hp. Being spotter though was...interesting...felt every wave and wake right through the tailbone...even in padded seats.

Post a photo a day!
I'd count it...and I'm kinda in the same 'boat'. New leaf-springs last fall, new brakes this spring...and I got the canoe out 3 times this season.

Waypoint line up
The first available GPS units for public use had an accuracy error of 1/4 mile. Even the current ones are why GPS guided smart-cars are still having issues. You might be in the right lane, but the car thinks it's in the left lane. Worse is on 2-lane roads...you're in your lane, but the error tells the car that you're in the oncoming lane...so it shifts you right into the ditch.

Fishmas 2021
This was so much fun last year despite worrying if my 'victim' would appreciate my selection for him, I'm in again.

Waypoint line up
Gotta remember that the GPS system is run by the government and they only 'guarantee' accuracy to 2m (6.6ft) for most general users. The more basic the GPS receiver, the wider the 'target'. "For example, GPS-enabled smartphones are typically accurate to within a 4.9 m (16 ft.) radius under open sky (view source at ION.org). However, their accuracy worsens near buildings, bridges, and trees." https://www.gps.gov/systems/gps/performance/accuracy/ You might just be off a bit on the map.

Holding a spinning rod
Exactly how I've held spinners for 50+ years...lets me pick up the line for casting or just touch it for feel sensitivity with my index finger without letting go of the rod.

I don’t like Abu...
They don't even have them anymore. Only baitcaster Pflueger has left is the President XT - the rest have disappeared from their site. Shame really - I wanted more Patriarchs...now that's a nice reel.

Making tiny batch custom stickers. ??
Just do a Google search for "small batch custom stickers". First few in the list range from $9 to $16 for a batch of 10-24...you supply the artwork.

Wake from big boats and bass.
When I was in the canoe, I was more concerned about not getting swamped by the wake than finding out what the fish were doing. One reason I'm upgrading to a V-Hull.

Charging Batteries w/o Electric Hookups
Solar is a trickle charge - unless you cover the whole boat with panels, you'll get maybe a few amps while the sun is up. Best bet - rent a generator and run your charger off that.
