  1. Or put it in the rear of the extended cab - took the rear seat out to turn that part into cargo space.
  2. Both my President-25 (1000 size) and my President XT-30 (2500 size) fit without a problem on my Furys...Pres-25 on a Fury 702SF, Pres XT-30 on a Fury 703SF.
  3. Mostly it's personal preference. Until I sold it with the canoe, I had a spinning crankbait rig that I used almost as much as my casting one. MH/MF rod with a 3000 size reel. Worked just fine I'm a left-caster/right-reeler no matter what rig I'm using - while I'm a righty for most things, my left arm is a bit stronger and with a missing right eye, I have better cast control to put the lure where I want it.
  4. Haven't tried P-Line - but I've been very happy with the 832...only line I've tried that's better is Smackdown.
  5. Right on the money https://www.rapala.com/sufix/braid/832-advanced-superline/832-advanced-superline/832+Advanced+Superline.html
  6. Highest I use on spinning is 20#...and that's on a 3000
  7. Look what I saw in the forecast from the NWS. "Saturday Night A slight chance of rain and snow showers."
  8. Just to help out - Fleet Farm currently has 832 on sale for $12.99 a spool - green and yellow, most line tests https://www.fleetfarm.com/brand/sufix/_/N-3527937340
  9. I've had it...it's fairly tasty in the middlin sizes (3-5lbs) - but filleting them is problematic as you have to remove the 'Y' bones that run down the center of the meatiest part of the fillet. So I just toss them back - never really got the hang of getting rid of the 'Y' bones.
  10. Gets worse when you realize that I bought that new back in the 70s.
  11. Find some old Abu Cardinals - I've got an old 562 with the trigger cast (same as Shimano quickfire) that's still in excellent working condition.
  12. My best luck with spinners is a 3/8oz, nickle double willow blade, chartreuse/white.
  13. Now if they'd just bring the price down for us budget anglers.
  14. Ummm - Pure Fishing acquired Pflueger in 2004 - so those 'older reels' you have are still under the PF umbrella.
  15. Some states allow it - check with the DWR for restrictions/regulations.
  16. It'd be great - if it was legal to do this in MN. We're prohibited from sinking anything into a body of water to create structure.
  17. So is Abu, Berkley, Fenwick, Shakespeare, Stren, Ugly Stick...and a host of others. Including Plano - which they bought this year.
  18. Closeout last fall - I picked up 4 Avocet RZT reels - 2x1000, 2000, 3000. Very under-rated...dunno why Mitchell discontinued them.
  19. I've got 1 each of Trion, President and President XT left - my other Trion and President were sold. I think it's the fact that the Trion and President are 2019 or earlier models...both have been very good reels...quiet, reliable. I've also heard about the newer models having some failings...but the 2020 Pres XT-LE I have is still 'up to snuff'. The removal of the AR switch in the new Trions removes it from my consideration now...while I'm not a back-reeler, I want that switch. Biggest problem I have with Pflueger now is that the only BC reel they're offering is the Pres-XT - every other model has been removed from their site. E-Mails, messages on their FB page, what-ever asking if the other models will return have been ignored.
  20. ANY mother protecting her young is more dangerous than anything else in the world.
  21. Black bears are the wimps of the bear world. Brown bears include specific sub-species like the Grizzly and Kodiak - that should tell you something
  22. Okay - I laughed
  23. Well, it fits his trailer...other than the winch of course.
  24. As close to the battery as is possible is much preferred. Like in home circuits - are the breakers near the appliances/outlets or are they at the source (where it enters the home).
