It's about even here...my town for example. "According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 4.96 square miles (12.85 km2), of which 2.86 square miles (7.41 km2) is land and 2.10 square miles (5.44 km2) is water."

Actually I don't own any. I may be on an island, but my house is 20'-25' above the normal lake level. It's pretty hilly here.

For just a reel...ya, that was a good chunk. I bought my Abu Ambassadeur 500R combo about that time and I think the whole rig was around $50. Young kid....'Get off my lawn!' (I was a year into my Air Force time...and I'd done 2 years of college before that)

He lives in a town that's one of those that surround Lake Minnetonka, so he's not joking. There are a number of ramps on Tonka, and lots of other lakes in the area here.

If I wasn't so single minded on my 4 spots (maybe 5 this year), I could chose from several dozen spots within 30-40 minutes of me...including the lake that produced the state record LMB.

You're probably going to be closer than me. When I saw the forecast, I dropped my weight...the top 3 have gone past that.

If I had the free time to go an hour's travel to get to a ramp....I think it'd be near 100 places I could launch. Including my 4 current spots, there's at least a couple dozen within 15-20 minutes - granted that almost half are different launch points on Minnetonka - but considering my canoe's speed (or lack thereof), to me it'd be like a new lake.

Depends on where I'm fishing that day Tonka; Phelps Bay ramp - 1 mile Tonka; North Arm ramp - 3 miles Dutch - 3 miles Little Long - 5 miles

Well, I moved up a couple spots in the BR group - but I'm still WAY behind. I need Seth to win it tomorrow... Then change my line-up.

What strategy - I just picked a local guy who's won before, then some well known names...that was my 'strategy'.

I'm doing a 'major' project this year. Replacing any drag-washers that aren't Carbontex with Carbontex...this is going to mean ALL my spinning reels as even the Pres-XT has oil-felt. In the process of measuring thickness now so I get the right stock for cutting my own.
